I live on the west coast so I don't have any experience with snook, redfish. I use both reels for Salt Water mostly Surf Perch but I did catch a Striped Bass just this morning and had am easy time reeling it in with my Shimano Socorro SW 5000. Neither my Socorro or Spinfishers came with extra spools.
