Q: if using a floor buffer is this a good to use

Don't need a floor buffer. This will do it all by applying.

Q: I found that my floors don't have much of a sheen, even though I used the high gloss formula. Does anyone have any tips or insight?

I have solid oak floors and when I had them refinished the contractor told me to usu the Bona cleaner and high gloss polish . They are washed every week, polished every 4 or 5. They look great better than ever before. Use the bona mops, wash after use.. NEVER windex and NEVER scrub pad- sorry, but no wonder they look terrible.

Yes. you could use Bona floor cleaner and then you may polish the floor with Bona floor polisher to give an excellent shine to your floor.

Q: how soon can you put a second coat of polish on?

I use one coat every month and that seems just perfect. The floors are shiny and I receive many compliments. I suppose you could use it every two weeks but more than that I don't see the point. This product was recommended by the hardwood floor installer who has been in the business for 40 +years.
