I am VERY frustrated with the wild swings on the prices! We use both the small and the medium pellets as we have a Sun Conure who does well with the small and a pair of macaws that have trouble picking up the small pellets so they get the medium. I've looked back at my history and seen NO pattern to the pricing. Sometimes both sizes are the same cost per lb (which they SHOULD be) and other times they can be far apart. Last week I saw the medium pellets for 19 dollars for 10lb which higher than the per lb I last paid for getting 25lb for 44 dollars but is far cheaper than the 59 dollars the same bag was now! So I ordered 3 10lb bags. But the 10lb small pellets were NOT even close to 19 dollars! All of the pellets are made of the same extruded material, they just force it through different size holes in the die the same way press cookies are made. Here is just my last four orders showing how extreme the prices have swung:Frankly, I wish I knew! The prices WILDLY fluctuate for this but a lot of us put up with it since our birds have thrived on it for over ten years so far and the breeder we got them from has used it for 20+ years. There ISN'T any reason why any size should cost more since they are all made from the same "paste" mix. The only thing that changes is the die that they extrude it through (think of the cookies that are squeezed through a mold into shapes) is changed to a different size. I just bought some medium two days ago in 10lb bags when I really wanted a 25lb because the price for the 25lb was much higher per lb. So today (AFTER the order shipped, of course) the price of the 25lb came back down... grrr! Anyway, here are my last 4 orders just to show you that even with my tiny sample you can see a range from 1.87lb to 4.26lb for the same exact pellets! BTW, I left out the dollar signs on purpose since often the Amazon system won't allow prices to be posted in case it was a sleazy site trying to entice people to go buy things from them instead of here. We buy it regularly and always keep a spare bag on hand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent feed *by M***Y on 11 February 2023* I bought this for my green winged macaw because her other food went up $20 and I wanted something a little less expensive. Despite what some people said about their birds rejecting it I decided to try it anyways. It had a good pellet size, smelled good and had a nice crumble factor to it. My bird usually dives into her other food but only ate a little bit of it when I put it in her dish. Usually she eats all her food by 5 pm which is her second feeding time. There were pellets left over. I waited a few days for her to get used to it but she never did. I did not want her to go to many more days without eating so I broke down and despite the cost bought her, her old food which is what I will keep her on from now on. I have nothing negative to say about this product except you have a 50/50 chance of your bird liking it.
