Chamberlain C2212T Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener, 1/2-HP Chain Drive Motor - Quantity 1 , Blue

I put mine in as a replacement for 40 year old job that had given up the ghost. I'm retired and I did it myself. That's not to say it was a breeze. There are parts of the installation where two people would be better. But I did it, so you may be able to as well, especially if your younger. The installation was pretty straight forward. I was able to use all the hanging hardware from the old opener and most of the wiring. I did this more than six months ago, and I'm extremely happy with this opener. The pricing at the time I bought it was very competitive. Especially considering the WIFI and battery backup. Because of the age and design of the old one, it was very loud. This one is the quietest I've ever heard. And it's smooth. But the best part is the Wifi. We can control, or check our garage door from anywhere in the world with the phone app that goes with this opener. And I get an alert on my phone every time the door opens and closes. And it's not obnoxious, just low tone, that does not intrude. And the application participates with Amazon which allows them "KEY" access to my garage for deliveries. No more packages sitting out in the snow or rain (we don't have theft problem here in our small town). It's been great. I would not want to go back. Or try any other openers. And by the way the battery backup was something I though was just a frill. But a month or so after installing. My wife was pulling into our garage when some neighbors came up to her to ask her how she was able to open her garage door, the power was down. So you never know. That was the first time the power had gone out in more than two years. We love it. And would recommend it to anyone.

I replaced an older chain driven Chamberlain opener with this new unit with battery back up and wifi so I didn't have to replace the rails or chain or anything. I just removed the old unit and used the 2 bolts to bolt the new unit to the rail and put it back in place and then adjust the travel limits up and down and I was up and going. The unit is very quiet and it moves quickly also. One thing I did learn. The new unit has a yellow learn button which is different than my older unit's purple learn button. They are 2 different frequencies so I had to buy a few more remote that I like to mount to the wall of my garage to be able to open and close the door in various locations. The wifi is very slick and I love being able to use my phone to open and close the door from anywhere and also can check on the status of the door whether open or closed. The MyQ app allows you to give access to your friends or family in order to share the use of the door remotely. I had dreaded the "project" of replacing my old opener but the project went 100 times smoother than I would have dreamed. I wish I had done this years ago to get to the newer technology.

Had to replace a very old garage door opener and needed something not too fancy that would work with the existing bones that I already had. Found this model and am very pleased with the result. With a few tweaks and modifications to the existing set up, I was able to install this alone. Please only do this if you are capable enough since some parts are tricky to do by yourself. Having a helper is probably best. The online instructions are really helpful and so are the animations. WiFi setup is pretty straightforward and being able to open via phone is ideal. Overall this is a great replacement opener!!

Switching out a garage door motor is right up there with replacing a toilet on the list of least-favorite DIY jobs. But in both cases there’s a lot of satisfaction to be had afterward. The motor installation could in theory be done by one person, but realistically it’s a task for two. There seems to be a lot of standardization among garage doors, so early on we decided to simply swap out the motor and use the existing ceiling mount, chain and pole. That worked out fine. The motor is super quiet compared with its predecessor. The remote was easy to register, but it seemed a bit parsimonious to only include one. We bought a pair of generic ones for a fraction of the OEM price for extras, and the generic ones were hooked up in seconds. So all in all it was a good purchase, seems like a reasonable price for all the hardware, just would have been happier with a second or even third remote included.

Definitely tedious to install but thats just the nature of garage door openers. Only issue I had with this opener was that the door could not go all the way down with the carrier stop in place so I bent that out of the way to get the desired distance to close. Works excellent and for the price it cannot be beat. Very quiet and seems like it will last. Connection to MyQ was super easy even with low wifi signal out at my detached garage

This opener is a big upgrade from the standard AC motor units. This opener is much quieter and opens more smoothly than typical AC motor units. All around it's a good value compared to some of the more expensive belt drive units (and may offer better durability with proper maintenance). The installation isn't particularly difficult or easy, but I wouldn't recommend self installation to most of my neighbors. The installation process took a number of hours, but it was made much easier with 3D visual instructions from manufacturer recommend Bilt app. The battery backup feature works nicely, but will not power the light (a candescent light is recommended by the manufacturer, but we opted for a lower consumption LED which has worked fine). The chain drive won't be as quiet as a belt drive, but I was informed they're typically recommended for heavier garage doors. While many resources suggest belt drives may last longer, I'm under the impression a chain drive is more durable and longer lasting than belt drives with routine lubrication. I've chosen to use a "dry lube" spray which has worked very nicely. The reason for not giving 5/5 would be the MyQ app. While pairing the device to WiFi is relatively smooth, the app itself is cluttered with product ads, routinely prompts to connect additional services I don't wish to use, does not support automation outside of Alexa, and does not have widget support on Android.

I'm a licensed engineer who works with tools for a living. That being said, I still read the manual for practically everything I do. This manual and assemply process took a lot longer than it should have because the company is really messing it up. First, there was no printed assembly guide included and there really needs to be one. People like having a paper manual out on the table when building things in the garage. It's silly to expect people to use a QR code to download an app then search for a manual, which is what these guys expect. Don't get me wrong, I like having a PDf manual, too, but I'm not taking my laptop out into the garage when I build something, and the app they provided did not work with locating the right manual for this product. Regarding the product, the unit itself doesn't even have the model number on a clearly identifiable location. You literally need to remove the light diffuser and search for the model number, which is necessary to get the right manual. I had to go back to my computer again to look up the model number. Overall, I was really annoyed with having to go back and forth from my computer to the garage to build this, and I didn't want read the manual on my phone, either, since it's easy to break a phone when working out in the cold with tools over a concrete floor. Enough with the millennial cost-cutting ideas. Print a darned manual in every box, chamberlain. Or at least have the QR code go straight to the PDF download instead of some annoying 3rd party app that requires an account and fails to connect your customers to the right inforamtion.

Garage door didn't work at all. I didn't get new rails, therefore ordered Chamberlain box again. Hope it will work at the end.

Muy feliz con el motor trae una app que desde ahi puedo abrirlo solo trae 1 control. Al igual q trae bateria de respaldo por si se va la luz
