Solid Core Heater Vent Control Cable Replacement Part For VW T5 7H2819837C

Much better than the original, does not kink or bend in normal use. It is an exact match for the original except it is a solid cable not braided. Not a simple job to change but makes a huge difference when you can actually change the heat settings.

This repairs the dreaded kinked cable on the T5. Was a nightmare to get the old one off. Deep down in the dash there’s not much space for hands, even with the glove box out and radio surround off. I found that you can get a small flat head screwdriver to release the catch just to the right of the cable to release the old one.

The original cable that this replaces is an unreliable item that fails regularly, it is also a total pig to change. This cable at least solves all the issues once you have it fitted, so very impressed with it.

After years of telling everyone that the middle blowers on T5 my son informed me that I was wrong and presented me with a replacement.A bit fiddly to fit even with glovebox and stereo out but wow what a difference it makes.Very happy and cool now.

Plastic snap on parts are very weak , be careful, I snapped mine , I’ll order another one but will be a bit gentler with it

Part was reasonable price. Not cheap.Fitting the new cable part to heater box adjuster washer cam immediately broke the part on the vehicle, shearing the location tab.Close inspection shows the location ball of the new part is already misshaped & over-size. Why should sealed parts need to be checked for condition ?I have no working heater & a hefty bill for a whole instrument dashboard to be removed to fit new major parts because of inferior quality non fit parts.Find another supplier & make or you’ll regret it.
