EVE LOM | Travel Essentials Set - Travel Friendly Skincare Collection

Sitting on the fence about how I want to rate this product. The quality of the items are definitely a full 5 stars. It's just that everything, short of the cloth and pouch, are extremely small. You don't get much at all in the set that sells for $48 (today's price). As you can see, I defaulted in giving it 5 stars because each item is very good. Definitely premium quality.These are high quality skincare products that are best for those on the drier side of the ph spectrum. Fine for those with normal skin, but will depend on how oily you might be feeling on any given day. Very good on my mature combination skin providing that I opt to use this on my drier days or give myself a break every couple days.The facial cleanser is a balm. Can be a bit tricky to pinch out of the small jar, but once you are able to massage this around your face, it works very well. This is the one item that I think would also work well for those with oilier skin because it's good at both cleaning and balancing the sebum production. Though it's balmy, it rinses away easily enough leaving the skin nice and clean. Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.That little bottle of essence is what tripped me up. Wasn't sure to use this as my toner or serum. Usually I use most essence products as my toner. After trying this one, that was a mistake. Use this at your serum stage with a toner underneath. It feels kind of oily while using, but give it several minutes to fully set and you'll be fine. There might be a slight bit of dewiness left on the surface of your skin, but for most users, it's a very nice layer of moisturization that does wonders for the skin. Doesn't really end up feeling oily, but more damp until its had a chance to completely settle. Makes skin feel amazingly soft and silky smooth. Your complexion will look radiant and fine lines will be diminished.The moisture cream is nice too. Of the three skincare products, I think this is the weakest, though still is quite good. This will also help to control any dewiness left from the essence. Goes on sort of thick, but absorbs well and makes the skin more supple and elastic. Feels like a perfect finishing product that leaves your skin ready to go.

Smaller than expected, but partner liked it!

I gave this product 3 stars but different aspects of it are rated differently:I like that when I go out of town, I can fit everything in the small pouch - I don't have to worry about finding room for all my big products. However, these are pretty tiny and the price is high - it would be hard to justify spending this much for the size of the product so if I were to rate the size, I would give it only 2 stars.I would give the products themselves 4 stars - the cleanser is really nice, it removes makeup and leaves my skin feeling pretty hydrated. The moisturizer is also good, very hydrating and smell isn't overpowering. The travel case is nice for keeping everything together and takes up a small amount of room.Overall, I gave this product 3 stars because the price and size are the biggest detriment - the product themselves are nice but not worth the cost in my opinion.

I enjoyed testing out Eve Lom Travel Essentials Set. Such sets are a great way to get an introduction into a new skincare routine without spending hundreds of dollars. They're also great for those who travel or for gifts. There's definitely a lot to like about these products, but I'm not sure I'm ready to join the Eve Lom fan club just yet. Here are my thoughts:The good:• The cotton muslin cloth is part of the Eve Lom skincare ritual that makes everyday cleansing feel like I'm at a spa.• The cleanser is a balm, which feels and smells great. It is semi solid, so I have to warm it in my fingers before massaging it onto my face After applying, I hold the warm wet muslin cloth over my face to open pores, cleanse and repeat until skin is clear. Next, I rinse the cloth in cool water and apply to skin to close my pores. I love this ritual. It's very relaxing and feels so good.• The moisturizer feels so silky and leaves my skin feeling soft.•The moisturizer contains a patented next-gen level of hyaluronic acid, which absorbs even more readily into skin than previous versions•The essence contains niacinamide and retinol, two of my favorite skincare ingredients.•These products contain plant-based compounds that contribute to skin health.•These products don't contain synthetic fragrances, sulfates, parabensThe not so good:•The ingredients are fairly basic and include quite a few synthetic ingredients. For instance, the primary ingredient in the cleanser is paraffinum liquidum, which is another name for mineral oil. The moisturizer contains silicone among other synthetic emollients.• This skincare is pricey. The full-size versions of these products are quite an investment.• The scents of each product are slightly different and don't blend well. After using the entire set, my skin smells slightly medicinal. My husband isn't a fan of the combined scents.For the time being, I'm glad I have the trial sizes. I'll keep on sampling, but unless my skin improves significantly, I probably won't invest in the full-size products.
