This worked perfectly out of the box
I needed a 2nd drive to backup a backup drive. Redundancy is the safest bet kids ;) I plugged this in , changed the drive lettering and made a copy, it went very quickly

WD 4TB HDD Review
I didn't realize this unit was being shipped from the UK. It took about an extra week to arrive, and when it did, I found out it did not have power adaptors to fit into electrical sockets that United States uses. Luckily, I had the 12V power cord from my old WD unit and it worked. I feel there should be more plain wording in the ad as to where this unit is shipped from.
