I've had the original BTS 66 for a couple of years and believe, even to this day, that they are the best value in bluetooth headphones. I have many bluetooth headphones and even the much more expensive J-Birds I bought on the recommendation from friends. The original BTS 66 were far superior. Sound is much better, longer battery life and best design, imo, for a sport headphone (literally NEVER have to adjust during a workout!... which was a big deal for me). They weren't perfect, but were clearly my go to headphones for working out... until these. So when these came out, I was very curious to see what a more premium product from them would be like. Connection is instantaneous (unlike the original which required occasional turning on/off bluetooth from phone), sound is richer and can be customized (equalizer) with their app. After my first hour of use, I was a little sore behind the ears. But for some reason, this has not become an ongoing issue. They do, however, fit slightly tighter than the BTS 66. Never had any connection issues with this model no matter where on my body, and connection has also always been instantaneous after turning on. While not a big deal for me, as I usually have my phone on me when using these, however, I can leave my phone in the kitchen and go anywhere in my 4200 sf home with a solid connection (which I can't with any other bluetooth headset). Most importantly, the sound is excellent. Battery life has been phenomal. I work out ~4 times a week, about 1.5-2 hrs each time and haven't had to charge these yet in a month. This is beyond my need. I use these headphones for use with my iPhone, most of the time for working out and occasionally watching youtube etc, not for home theater or critical listenning. In summary, what I like: Hands down best design for working out, both running and weight training including lying on bench (I could never previously find a earbud or headphone that didn't require constant adjusting during a workout) Rock solid and instantaneous connection No skipping of music Very good sound more than adequate battery life (for me) As I mentioned earlier, I still think the BTS 66 are the best value in bluetooth headphones. For me, however, this is clearly the preferred choice as I appreciate the better sound, improved connection and better battery life for the premium price. I just had a very scary experience with these headphones. They completely died in the middle of a song, even though they were fully charged. Nothing I did was able to turn them back on. They were just dead. It was the same thing that happened with my last pair. I plugged them back in, since that was the company's advice the last time this happened. About a minute later, I noticed the charging light was no longer on, so I went to see what was wrong. As soon as I got close to them, I smelled burning plastic and quickly unplugged them. The burning smell was coming from where the charging cord inserts into the headphones. It was so hot that I burnt my finger trying to pull it out, and it would not pull out because it was actually MELTED into the headphones! (My husband was later able to pull the charger out, and I took some photos to show the melted plastic.) If I had plugged them in and walked away they could have easily caused a fire. Needless to say, I cannot possibly recommend these headphones any longer. They are great while they are working, but they are not worth the risk. I am awaiting a response from customer service, and will update with their response. Please DO NOT BUY!! The cushion on one of the ear pads separated and fell off after one use. I contacted the company, and they sent me 2 new ear pads. I had no more issues with the ear pads after that, and those headphones worked well for around a month. Then, for no discernible reason, they just completely died. No matter what I tried they would not turn back on. I contacted customer service again, and they gave me some instructions to try to fix them. Their instructions did not work either, so I asked for a refund. Customer service told me that since it had been over 30 days they could not issue a refund. I had no choice but to agree to them sending me a new pair instead (although I'm not exactly sure if they were brand spanking new, since they did not arrive in a box - they were simply placed inside their accompanying carrying case, put into an envelope, and shipped to me like that). So far this replacement pair has worked great, and I've had no issues after using them for a few months now. Bluetooth hooks up instantly. The battery life is amazing! I can get about a week's use out of one charge, and I use them several hours each day. As for the sound quality, these don't blow me away or anything, but it's definitely decent. So, whereas my original pair never became uncomfortable no matter how long I wore them, this replacement pair starts to hurt my ears after a while. I wear these headphones for 2+ hours a day during my workout sessions, in a heated room with high humidity (like a hot yoga room). To say I sweat while wearing these is an understatement. Most days I am literally drenched in sweat the entire time I'm wearing them, and so far this second pair has held up great. I rated these a 4, despite the bad experience I had with my first pair, because: They do not fall off while working out They have held up to buckets of sweat The battery life is amazing The sound is very decent The app that allows you to customize the sound to your liking. It is extremely useful, and one of my favorite features of these headphones. These could be the perfect bluetooth sport headphones if this company could improve their quality and consistency.
