I've been on the lookout for an electric razor that can shave as close as a Gillette Fusion 5 blade razor and was at the point of giving up. I've tried all brands including top of tbe range Philips, Hitachi ,Panasonic and even this razors predecessor. All of them did reasonably good to very good but were ultimately beaten by the aforementioned Gillette wet razor. That was until I took delivery of this Braun Series 9 Pro + . Complete with a charging case and cleaning station it immediately struck me as a quality product. The battery is flat on arrival so it needs to be fully charged before use. This process is very quick however and the razor can be charged either directly via the supplied mains charger or via the cleaning stationIn use I tried it with a full weeks worth of beard growth. The initial pass did take the majority of stubble off but also left some behind. After repeating the pass several times and using the beard trimming blade I had a shave the equal of my much vaunted Gillette Fusion razor. After I'd finished, cleaning it was a matter of placing the razor in the cleaning station and letting the cleaning station do all the hard work. The cleaning station also recharges the razor. Unlike the Panasonic unit I've used in the past the razor is cleaned to perfection. It also handles beautifully ,is easy to use and provides for me a top quality 'close as a blade' shave without the skin irritation of competitor brands. So is there anything to be aware of?Yes sadly there's a few niggles:First this whole setup is...NOISY. It is noisy in operation and noisy when being cleaned . It also vibrates considerably when in use. You will certainly know when you are using itSecond is that with a weeks worth of stubble it is going to need several passes over the facial area and even then will not necessarily pick up every stray hair. It will need use of the trimmer blade to remove longer and elusive stray hairs and that may need several passes. So the process is potrntially slow and needs to be repeated potentially several times. But the overall shave is for me utter perfection with a billiard ball like smoothness resulting without any skin irritation or burning whatsoever. And that is near miraculous for me who has suffered razor burn and other maladies with competitor brands.Despite the foibles I would strongly recommend this electric razor. If you are using it after a couple of days stubble growth, the need to repeat the process will probably not be necessary. And it will most certainly be a lot quicker.Overall a fantastic razor combination.

It's an absolute beast
I really wasn't sure before buying this shaver. It's not the cheapest, so unless you're really quite financially flush, it's a consideration without doubt. However, I picked this up on a black Friday deal, and I've been using it for three days now, and wanted to sing its praises.I've an average (whatever that may be) type of beard growth. By that I mean that I've never had particular issues with using electric shavers, but I had mainly been a wet shave person. I had in the past used the Braun series 3, but found it a bit underwhelming in truth. The amount of passes I had to make just felt like it was more trouble than it was worth, and so I moved hastily back to my default of wet shaving. However, over the last year I started looking at a new shaver, really out of boredom and because I was also becoming a bit lazy with having to lather up. I plumped for the Philips 9000, which is of course a rotary head shaver. It works quite well once your face gets used to the circular type motions, and I'd been relatively impressed..... However, me being me, I started to both look at online and watch reviews of other brands, and came across the Braun Series 9 pro plus. After hovering over the 'buy now' button, I eventually committed, and I am so glad I did. This thing is in my own view on a different level. When I feel my face, if I've completed enough passes with the shaver, it's almost up with a wet shave. It's just a beast in my view. It supposedly has some form of sonic function built in, which I think you can actually feel when you're shaving as it's very 'vibraty' (yes, I know that's not a real word). You can just feel the power this thing generates, and being quite loud it just feels like the noise is all part of the 'meaty' engine on this thing. I know that everyone has their different hair type, preferences and own experiences, but from my perspective I am absolutely blown away.I won't review the accessories, but just say that the cleaning station is excellent, as it dries off the shaver as part of the cleaning cycle. Some aren't fussed about cleaning stations, but me personally I love what it does.My view is buy it. I genuinely think that the vast majority of folks would be as impressed as I am.

Best I shaver have used
Although not a cheap item, I am glad I took the plunge and purchased this mighty machine. It is a substantial product and in a good way. It fills the hand reassuringly and is for me nicely ergonomic. Grip is good, and I particularly like that the head can be in one of several fixed positions or left 'loose' to follow the contours of my face, giving me some of the best shaves I have ever experienced. It is quite loud, so best to close the bathroom door or risk waking other members of the household on a Sunday morning (it really is not too bad, quite easy to live with)!I like the cleaning station - it makes care of this shaver a simple affair. The station is quite a noisy beast (it sets the shaver working several times over a few minutes as part of the cleaning process) and then blow dries and recharges the shaver. I personally save on cleaning fluid by manually cleaning the shaver with a small brush to get rid of most bristle build-up, then placing the shaver in the station for a clean. After the process is finished, I remove the fluid cartridge from the staion and reseal it to avoid the contents evaporating. One cartridge can last for quite some time this way depending on frequency of cleans.I am pleased with this item. Yes, replacement heads are quite pricey, but so are all the various manufacturers' replacement cutters. At least with Braun it seems you get a good deal of use from the original head (I have owned this shaver for some time now, and it still cuts cleanly).I certainly recommend this product. Before this I used a rotary shaver for many years and I will not be going back to that system again.
