I needed a couple of ceiling mounted chrome vents for a bathroom refurbishment. Due the constraints of the room, the shower cubicle had a floor-to-ceiling wall; this required its own vent to fully extract the steam. The other vent was mounted in the centre of the room for general ventilation. Both vents were connected with 100mm trunking to the loft mounted extractor fan. The vent requires a 100mm hole in the ceiling, it can be secured with some plaster board screws or a push on captive washer, I used both; secured in position with the washer, then used plasterboard screws which bind into the washer for a very secure fit. The fit with the 100mm Rond dustin pipe is a bit loose so a used some duct tape around the spigot to make it more snug, The chrome fascia fits on easily and holds the bug screen in place, this is easy to remove for cleaning if required. Very pleased with the result.

I used this for bathroom extraction where there is an inline fan up in the loft space. This fan then vents to outside.To begin with I was tempted to order a metal vent but had seen some brands rust very quickly. So with this in mind, I opted for an all plastic vent and pleased that I did.This particular one has a mesh to block bugs getting through but isn't flow restrictive and is easy to access by taking the face plate off. Behind the face plate I used a couple of screws up into the plasterboard to secure the vent.It's too soon to say whether the white plastic will lose its colour but I have no complaints with the product to date. It also connected to other plastic piping with a nice snug fit.For the price paid, this item is a good buy.

just the job

I have used these for ceiling extractor fans in bathrooms and they look great for the price paid. The filter mesh included means no insects can crawl up in or out of the duct. Also the backing ring means that you can secure the vent to the ceiling from the reverse/attic side without necessaily needing to drill and screw anything into the ceiling plasterboard. I have also found that the vent fits snugly with standard white 100mm air duct piping, which is helpful when you are fitting rigid ducting in tight attic spaces. The only black mark for me is that the backing ring is slightly brittle if forced and can snap... which has happened to me and then requires tape and glue to remedy.
