Easy to install
These wire baskets are great! Deterrent to those pesky gophers! Easy to use, just dig a big enough hole and leave some wire at the top of the ground level!! Happy planting!

Bags are larger than needed.
Hard to wrap around multiple large tomatoes at a time. Great for larger crops like melons, squash, etc.

Great value, especially when you consider the gophers are not going to eat your plant
Used this product for pesty gophers that were eating up my garden. I put a one gallon passion fruit in it and then broke the roots apart and put them in the wire sack. Then dug a hole and put the sack with the plant in the ground with some coffee grounds (thanks Starbucks) and covered it in the ground. There is no way a gopher can get through that.

Helpful With My Garden
First time using root guards after the last gardening season devastated by gophers. Nothing I did last season helped (hadn't tried any poison) without having to build a full cage. So far so good this season. It's August and 3 months into the season, they are still holding up well. No gopher problems this year so all the hard work has so far not gone to waste. Recommended as an option.

These really worked
I have been looking for something that will protect bulbs from burrowing critters. These baskets should do the trick. They are wire mesh and pliable. They come folded over several times. I unrolled the basket leaving 1 roll to make the top stronger. 1 gal size fits 4 - 5 tulip bulbs or 3 larger daffodil bulbs. Of course next spring will tell if they work and I have high hopes.Spring comment: I have the early bulbs coming up all over. I did stake the planting sites so I could easily tell if the product is good I may have some bulbs that the critters got to, but it will be a beautiful spring.

Big help when trying to keep underground critters out of plant roots
