Review: Easy to install. Everything else was difficult. - The actual install took about 5 minutes. Getting the broken rusted actuator off took about 45 minutes. Since the tailgate would not open, had to get to the actuator through the tailgate window by pulling back the plastic panel and squeezing my arm between the panel and liftgate and pulling up on the actuator which was completely rusted. You would think that the tailgate had not been opened for a year but I use it every day. Once and thankfully the tailgate was open, the bottom screws on the plastic panel were rusted and the 3 torx screws holding the actuator were really rusted. You will need a 26 torx bit to get these screws out. After several attempts of WD-40 and hoping that I would not strip the screws, they all finally came out. The new part fit perfectly and as said before, it took all of 5 minutes to install the new actuator and replace the plastic panel. the tailgate works as good as new!

The actual install took about 5 minutes. Getting the broken rusted actuator off took about 45 minutes. Since the tailgate would not open, had to get to the actuator through the tailgate window by pulling back the plastic panel and squeezing my arm between the panel and liftgate and pulling up on the actuator which was completely rusted. You would think that the tailgate had not been opened for a year but I use it every day. Once and thankfully the tailgate was open, the bottom screws on the plastic panel were rusted and the 3 torx screws holding the actuator were really rusted. You will need a 26 torx bit to get these screws out. After several attempts of WD-40 and hoping that I would not strip the screws, they all finally came out. The new part fit perfectly and as said before, it took all of 5 minutes to install the new actuator and replace the plastic panel. the tailgate works as good as new!
