The actual install took about 5 minutes. Getting the broken rusted actuator off took about 45 minutes. Since the tailgate would not open, had to get to the actuator through the tailgate window by pulling back the plastic panel and squeezing my arm between the panel and liftgate and pulling up on the actuator which was completely rusted. You would think that the tailgate had not been opened for a year but I use it every day. Once and thankfully the tailgate was open, the bottom screws on the plastic panel were rusted and the 3 torx screws holding the actuator were really rusted. You will need a 26 torx bit to get these screws out. After several attempts of WD-40 and hoping that I would not strip the screws, they all finally came out. The new part fit perfectly and as said before, it took all of 5 minutes to install the new actuator and replace the plastic panel. the tailgate works as good as new!

This replacement part was easy to install and worked like a charm. Great value for the money. Have bought other parts from Amazon and never had a problem.

The liftgate latch (actuator) on my daughter's 2012 Ford Escape intermittently quit working, so I decided to order this highly rated, low cost replacement part. I found a video on YT that shows "how to replace rear liftgate latch 09-12 Ford Escape" and followed along. Replacement was easy and this part fit perfectly. Hopefully it will last as least as long as the factory latch did (13 years). If it fails quickly, I'll update this review.

This was probably one of the easiest repairs I have done. The part fit right. The connectors were exact. It bolted right in and worked. It's been almost a month and the latch is used several times a day. I would recommend this part.

I replaced the original latch on my 2012 Ford Escape with this part. First let me say, to my surprise, this part was far superior in quality compared to the original. The latch itself on the original was plastic. The replacement has a metal latch. It’s not hard to guess which will last longer. The electric plugs plugged in easily and securely. I am definitely impressed with the value for the money with this part. Overall, the installation was fast and easy. One recommendation is to open your rear glass when reinstalling the plastic cover panel on the inside of the hatch. It provides better clearance with the rear window defogger. Buy with confidence.

I'm super impressed with this actuator, my trunk finally opens from the outside! Fits my 2011 ford escape perfect, easy to install, beyond impressed! Worth the purchase and the price!
