Excelent quality and size, perfect for professional use or a gift

These are alwayz great to have in your arsenal. Especially, if you're an independent film maker, regardless of the position you're working in. I've purchased a few of these and am now working on personalizing this one. With more knowledge working in camera I've learned what's "needed" for a slate board. I gave "Sturdiness" 4 stars because the screws are meh. They're solid, but after so many uses the screws do end up loosening. This is pretty frustrating and I learned the hard way to ensure they're constantly screwed in. It was during one of the scenes I was 1st AC'ing for and right as I was about to slate, the top handle came off. It was then I saw the screws had fallen off and I was scrambling to find a replacement for them. And, since we were filming in a grassy field, you can guess how fun that was trying to find the screws that fell off LOL Easy fix, but it'd be better if it came this way. I replaced all 3 screws for 3 longer ones (to give me an extra 2-4 in) and replaced the back domed cap nuts with a lock washer and lock nut. So mii configuration addition was: Front side - washer/Back side - lock washer & lock nut. I've used this config on other slate boards, which is why I can say this - it works and does not loosen at all! Other than that, everything else about this board is superb!

This clapper does what it needs to. The reason for one star getting knocked off is the acrylic seems a little porous, with the dry-erase markers ghosting and taking a lot of elbow grease to get totally clean, which can take off some printing if you're not careful. Other than that, nice sharp claps, decent info layout.

I’m a film student, and had to use a dual audio system for a shoot. Normally our school provides us with slates but we had to get one because all of the ones in stock were rented out. This slate is of high quality, claps really well, and is great for practical audio syncing in post production. It does take a bit of elbow grease to get some marker residue off but a magic eraser works wonders and gets it back to practically new. If you need a good, affordable slate, get this one.

If you write on this, it will NOT come off. When you try to wipe it off, all of the black text comes right off. The first time using, the screws fell out of the top. Works fine in a pinch if you use masking tape to write on and are mindful of the screws. Just purchase a better one from B&H. Would not recommend this one. It’s basically a piece of decoration.

This is the perfect non-digital clapboard if you're a beginner in filmmaking. The size and look are just excellent. The colors are inviting as well. It's the romance of old-school filmmaking that made me get one like this. Outstanding quality.

Well after a week of use the bolts fell out and I had to replace those and then the actual glue that held the dry erase part fell off, the wood cracked after 20 clacks, and the magnet to hold the ends fell out also.

実際に短編ドラマ制作で使いましたが、書いた文字が消せなくて結局ダイソーで売ってるホワイトボードを分解して白い板の部分だけテープで貼り付けました、こうすればホワイトボードマーカーの磁石もくっつきます。 それ以外は満足です、ドラマ制作で普通に使えました

It’s a state. It works well. It’s well built. It was affordable for an independent filmmaker. It’s not digital. You have to write on it with an erasable pen or pencil. And it’s perfect for my needs.
