One of the problems with old houses (and there are many, usually expensive....!) is a lack of sockets where you want them!Step forward this usefully long extension lead with 8 sockets, 4 USB ports and surge protection.Exactly what I wanted.So, the unit itself is reasonably robust - I am allowing for the fact it was under £30 here - stands upright perfectly well, and has 2 switches on the top. 1 is for the sockets, and the other for the USB ports.I imagine this could be useful to some.A maximum load of 2,500w (or 2.5kw) is what I would expect and will be fine for most electronics like Tv's Sky boxes, PC's, laptops etc.You would only likely cause an issue if you loaded the circuit with something like an old electric heater or a kettle on top of the above listed items.If you did overload it then the reset button is inside the base of the unit.Surge protection is there to do what it says, protect the expensive equipment from surges of power that could otherwise damage electronic equipment. While surges are rare nowadays, there is the chance they could happen.Overall this is a good, and so far (had it a few months now) completely faultless extension unit. Even under heavy load (circa 2,000w) it has not got warm or made any disconcerting noises (power hum, or resonance). In short it just works!I don't think you will go wrong with this.Update. 8th July 2022.Well, 10 months into ownership and this is still doing exactly what I ask of it and with no issues whatsoever. It does not get warm, nothing has failed to work and I have tested it with both most of the sockets in use and the USB ports at the same time.Thanks for reading and I hope you found the review useful. :)

It does exactly what I wanted to tidy up our internet and phone wiring while offering convenient USB points.

Near perfect. The only thing I found misleading was I thought the lead retracted inside the unit.Apart from that, it's perfect. Really neat and small - and the USB sockets come in really handy too, meaning more space is freed up for plugs.

This is so much neater than the in-line plug banks. Mine is being used for all the tv, router, phone and tv box wires and the whole thing is much tidier than previously. I will be getting another for my office.

Just what was needed, somewhere to plug in and also space for usb leads. Good to have everything in one place, no more need to search for usb plugs. Has a good long cord too

Compact vertical plug adapter that I find more convenient to use when several plugs are attached than the common horizontal ones. Extras such as the USB ports were also useful.
