Wanting to try it out when we found it difficult to source locally or from friends in Alaska, we ordered the smallest package of 113g. When it arrived we were delighted at how many chunks were actually enclosed and they still had some of the bark on them, an uncommon find in commercially sold chaga.Chaga is often classified as a mushroom, but it is unique in that in can be found growing on tree bark not soil. We use it regularly for tea; you simply add it to boiling water and then let it simmer for a while. It has virtually no flavor of its own so you can grind it into powder -- it's rather hard, so sometimes we pound it into smaller chunks first -- and add it unobtrusively to coffee or flavored teas. And the chunks are reusable. You can get a lot of chaga tea from each chunk.Because it lasts so long, we won't be reordering very soon, but we've found a source we like in this Tao Wild Harvest Chaga and will order it again when needed.
