The Best ring to get! Plus Pre Roll. You DONT have to have existing chime
If you do some research as I did, there are many YouTube videos that compare Ring doorbells and The Ring Wired comes out as the best and most economical version.I did NOT have an existing bell, so I had to buy a adapter from Amazon as well, so i could plug bell into mains socket. The mains socket does not need to be near to the bell, mine is about 6 metres away and the adapter cable is so thin, you cant notice it, its not liking having an extension lead running around your house! You also dont need to by or already have an exsiting chime. It connects to your phone, so if you can hear your phone, you can hear the doorbell. It also connects to an Alexa if you really want to hear the Bell ring indoors. You also get PRE ROLL something that's not in the blurb but you get 3 seconds before action starts. VERY useful and only advertised on ring Pro versions. It uses a 'Fisheye' lens so, the field of view is much more than needed, i can see over the roof of house opposite as well as the ground by my front door. Its wide enough to cover neighbour's driveway either side of as well.Video quality is excellent, its 1080p which is HD so its going to be.Motion sensor works perfectlyNight vision is also very good. Two way talk works very well, no complaints there eitherinstalled in about 10-15 mins (And Im not a DIY person!) just 2 screws in wall.If fact i have no complaints at all, why would anyone spend 200 quid on a doorbell when this does almost as much for 50! After all, its just a doorbell! If anyone told you 10 years ago, one day you would spend 50 quid on a doorbell, you would have laughed at how ridiculous that sounded. And yet here you are.........Just buy, job done

WiFi connectivity and hardwired also!
Not sure why anyone would think it would be hard wired to the internet and not WiFi when it clearly states that it works with WiFi. Looks neat and I’m definitely considering a purchase.

Easy to install, works well
Before buying this product, take a look at the installation instructions on ring.com/hardwired then click on the link further down the page for the wired doorbell to learn how to install it.If those instructions look straightforward enough to you, then installation should be a breeze. More importantly, the instructions will tell you whether you will need to spend an extra £20 on a transformer. If your chime looks like mine in the attached image, then you are fine without a transformer and you can see what I've done with the jumper cable. As I said, installation is easy enough. The app will guide you through the procedures step-by-step, although the screws in the app look different to the screws supplied (the online instructions are better). The existing cables for my doorbell were a little short, so installing the doorbell was fiddly but these could have been extended if needed. Installation and setup really didn't take long at all.The app itself is... okay. Not great, not terrible. It took a little playing around to get comfortable with it, but it is reasonably intuitive. Click on the history and it will give you a list of notifications, then you can click on them to watch the recorded video. Otherwise, click on the most recent image and it will bring up a timeline you can scroll through.I have set the doorbell to ring via my alexa devices in the house. This needs to be done via the Alexa app. You need to switch on 'doorbell press announcements' in the Alexa app for this to work (seemed to take me a couple of tries to figure that out).I can ask my firestick to 'show me the front door' and, after an uncomfortable pause, it gives me a really clear view on the TV. It tells me I can press the microphone button on the remote to speak through the doorbell, but that doesn't seem to work for me. There is less of a pause if I connect via my phone. If I say to one of my echo dots 'speak to the front door' it connects really quickly and I can have a clear two-way audio conversation. This works really well. You can invite other users to have access to this bell. It will send them an email and setup instructions. They just need to be able to follow the instructions. My son didn't quite follow the instructions and did things slightly out of order, and it was a pain to figure out why it wasn't working. We just needed to go back and follow the instructions exactly.Honestly, the audio and video quality is very good. I absolutely don't regret this purchase. At the price, it is really competitive.

Don’t waste your money on this item :-(
What can I say apart from don’t waste your moneyBought this to replace a nest systemAfter installing I found out that live stream is not a thing for more than 30 seconds where as nest stays on all the timePicture is not HD more like 480pApp is terribly slow at bringing camera up even though I’m on 300mb broadbandSo disappointed with this especially the live view bit :-(Easy to install though and easy to connect

False advert
Misleading advert. Says hard wired but that’s only for power supply. Requires app to connect with WiFi to work.

Easy install, simple setup, works great!
I've been holding out for the hardwired version of the ring doorbell for ages, and i'm glad I waited.Installation was very easy. Simply connect the included jumper cable to bypass the existing chime and fit the two wires of your existing bell to the Ring. Anyone with basic DIY skills can do it.I had to do a little re-wiring due to there not being enough cable length after removing my old bell but thats just due to sloppy builders!Setup is straight forward via the Ring app. Similar to setting up an Alexa device.I created a dedicated 2.4GHz wifi network on my router just for the Ring bell and the Chime to give them the best chance of a strong signal. Wifi signal to the bell is a little weak based on my house setup but there's enough there to keep it active. The plugin Chime is fairly inconspicuous and loud enough to be heard throughout the house.Overall, very happy with it.
