Great low carb alternative
If you are looking for a low carbohydrate alternative to rice this product is for you.Yes, It is not rice, it is a rice alternative. It is a little rubbery but for me as a diabetic real rice is not an option. Instead I use this is a healthy alternative. The fiber in this product replaces the starch found in real rice. Most Konac products smell bad but this one does not. I don't know what the other people are complaining about, this brand has a nice clean odor.

DON’T! DON’T! DON’T buy this rice!
Please! Look at my picture then look at the advertising picture (on package and on post). This rice product is nothing near real rice. Not the shape, not the taste, not the texture. I’m Asian, I eat rice almost everyday all of my life. And I am normally not a complainer, I have used this brand before but in noodle form and I don’t mind anything of it. I have used other brand for rice form, never had problem and complain. That brand just all the sudden out of Amazon market. So I gave a try to this product. If you look at my picture, in the bowl is Konjac rice. Color was little altered from soy sauce. Original color was kind of whitish clear. In the spoon (my picture), was real jasmine rice. I put it there to compare between Konjac rice and real rice. Look closely, the shape is absolutely wrong and very disappointed. Konjac rice shaped like a big cube or cut cylinder shape. Texture was like chewing crispy slippery seaweed. No smell because I rinsed very well, however I have to pretty much squeeze water out of them. When you just rinsed and drained (no squeezing), this product holds good amount of water in between them (like there was no drainage out, they were sealed together like glue). The taste were not pleasant, since the texture was off, contained excessive of water, the taste was disgusting. I had forced myself to enjoy it for 3-4 pouches, and none of this time I was enjoyed the meal even with yummy foods. The appearance is very important to me. Sorry I maybe picky but when I see tons of marble-like cube thing in my bowl with food, I was lost half of my appetite. Not recommended this rice product. You can try the noodle tho.

Pleasantly Surprised
I was a bit skeptical about trying this but decided to give it a try anyway and was surprised at how versatile it turned out. It's not as soft as rice nor does it have the starchiness, instead it has a bit of chewiness sans the stickiness of rice. Works well if making fried rice or with curry/gravy based dishes. Great for keto diets, diabetes and those who want to cut out some carbs.

it’s NOT rice, but…
…if you're desperate for a rice substitute, this will make you happy. only bought this brand because “Better Than Rice” konjac rice not available. This is a larger, coarser cut “grain” with no real taste (once properly rinsed), but fried up nicely in a wok and gives some of that rice feel carb-cutters crave. Only had 1 of the packs so far, and it’s…okay.

Konjac rice
I have tried several brands of Konjac rice. I definitely prefer this over the others.

Smell reminds me of...something NSFW
I am used to 'healthy' options smalling a little different and some of them tasting a bit different from what they are trying to imitate. This however was a whole different experience. First thing is the packets are filled with water so you need to drain and rinse the rice. Not a huge huge deal, just gives off that feeling of 'well, guess it will be either really soggy or I need to find something that will actually dry out this so it will somewhat have the texture of actual rice. Turns out it the texture is more like the noodles you would find in canned chicken noodle soup. Soft, sorta watery and easier to just gulp it down instead of trying to chew while convincing yourself it is a healthier version of rice. That would have been somewhat bearable for a day where I just really felt like I should punish myself but the smell..the smell when opening the package was something else. Opening it gave off a smell like someone did some NSFW stuff in the bag before sealing it up. That alone was almost worth me throwing it away all together. However I figured I may as well just give it a shot to say I tried it. I wonder if a food pantry may take it however I am not that mean as to subject someone else who is not accustomed to this texture/smell to whatever is going on here.

Will order it again!
I’m very picky with my rice and this was better than what I expected! I tried konjac rice from different brands before and some of them had weird fishy smell but this one doesn’t. I rinsed it under hot water for 1min and cooked with my rice cooker and it tasted great. I personally like this better than the noodles.
