I use these beads as embellishments on knitted garments. I have purchased other beads in the past and have had to throw away a good third of them because the hole size was smaller than the rest. So far I have been very pleased with these and have not had to throw any away. There is some inconsistency in the outside length dimension, but that really does not impact my use for them. About 10% are shorter than the rest.

I needed a LOT of beads of this size and color to edge every third stitch of a shawl. These appeared to do the trick and they will, but many beads have either a much smaller ID or the hole doesn’t go all the way through to the other side.

I wanted to make a bracelet. These beads are okay. But... they're all different shapes and sizes ( the hole part is fine, but the widths are not) . Meh, I'll use them for something else.

My method...broke the bead into pieces to see if it was solid yellow. They are not. It's white under the yellow. I can't speak to the longevity of the color but didn't chance it because I wanted to use them for African waist beads with the option of using them for the type you keep on all the time. So opted to return them. Of course I'm not sure but it's a good chance the color will last a while if it's something you don't constantly wear or a craft project.
