6 Mar 2023A year later, the (piano) hinge squeaks a little and I haven't tried to lubricate it to see if it went away. Agnat died underneath the mirror and the LED strip. Maybe I could vacuum it out, I haven't tried that either.15 Feb 2022This was the only medicine cabinet of this style in this size that I could find. Or perhaps there were other options that were over a thousand dollars and I wasn't willing to pay that much. I wish this cabinet had soft close hinges but other medicine cabinets didn't have a switch to turn off the light. Tradeoffs.We replaced an old medicine cabinet with this one that is the exact same size and luckily it was an easy swap. We're somewhat handy and didn't need to look at the instructions provided. We used drills, wire strippers, and electrical tape. Plus some painters tape, caulk, and touch-up paint. We hardwired the cabinet in with the existing light on top.Tip - use painters tape around the cabinet before installing so you don't have to do it after it's installed on the wall. Once it's up, we caulked around and painted it.Our building is old so the recessed opening is not quite square, which means after we installed the cabinet and placed the glass shelves in, they wobbled, like when you have uneven feet on a chair. We decided to replace the junky HD off the shelf medicine cabinet the previous owner installed before they sold the house, which I have hated forever. This unit was a perfect solution, as it allowed for a recessed install, had way more storage space than its predecessor, and provided additional lighting that was badly needed in our bathroom. The only caveat is when installing, be very mindful of installing it perfectly level, otherwise the door won't stay put when open; the magnetic closure should hold it close, but the swing may be a problem. I still have to go back and fix that issue, as apparently, I'm a hair off level.UPDATE: After less than 2 years, the light has stopped working. I can't locate any information on a warranty and the Hamilton Hills website is no longer hosted. Buyer beware... Unless you're buying the model without the light, in which case, the unit is very sturdy still.

Excellent reassessed lighted medicine cabinet.It looks great on my bathroom. Can’t wait until the renovation is done so I can start to use it.

Preparing my house to sell and wanted to update from the 90’s golden oak fixtures. This looks modern but doesn’t give as much light as I would have liked since there is nooverhead light in the bathroom. But it’s stylish and sturdy and has glass shelving which I prefer.

Didn’t see that the mirror that was shipped had scratches on it until I had it installed and had cut the wire to hardwire the light so too late to return it. Will try grinding out the scratches.
