Save some money!!!
Save some money and get this one instead of more expensive brands. This thing is just as solid as a friend's who is a bigger name. Springs can be a little loud but not even bad enough to bring it down to 4 stars. For have the price of the bigger competition there is no competition. The picture shows mine with my custom cable run through it as well using low profile mic cable.

Not for mic's with weight
I had to return this after one of the bases broke and the other would just sag. It couldn't hold the weight of my blue yeti or my AKG mic's and I tried both on this. Returned and will not be buying it again.

Rip-off alert
Will NOT support advertised weight of 2.75 lbs. Wilts under the weight of my Rode NTK (1.68 lbs). Hard pass on this manufacturer and seller for me. Buyer beware.

Pretty good boom!
For the price, you get a really nice boom. I do wish the spring in it were a little quieter.I have my Shure MV7 mounted on it, and I did have to order the little converter for it to mount but that was not a problem at all. It stays upright and only seems to "sag" if it's fully extended. It would be nice if you could lock or tighten the joints in place to keep it in one position.I'm overall quite happy with it and at this price feel it's a good value.

Well build mic arm stand, but some areas for improvement.
This is a great option to get your mic off of your desk and position it where you need it.The arm is made of metal with some bits of plastic cladding. The springs are tucked into frame so they are unobtrusive. There are two issues, though:1) It does not appear possible to lock the position of the upper part of the arm so you will get some drift over time that has to be corrected.2) The range of motion is somewhat limited by the lower arm so it's not quite a great as it could have been with three points of articulation (versus the 2 that it has).A great addition to your WFH setup to reclaim some desk space and position your mic better, but lacking 1 point of articulation and adjustable locks to be perfect.

really nice solid boom arm....highly recommend!
This product was delivered fast and on time.I was very impressed with this desk mounted boom arm. It is very heavy duty compared to my light weight Neewer kit arm I bought along with my AT2020 mic a few years ago. This Auphonix boom arm arm weighs in at 1350 grams....about 3 pounds (not including desk mount/clamp) compared to my old 358 gram (0.8 lbs) Neewer boom arm. It is also larger than my older boom arm. It will stretch out to about 32" not including the microphone itself. It comes with a side desk mount and an on desk swivel mount. I use the latter. The clamp itself is pretty robust and solid. The portion that sits on top of the desk has padding underneath that sits on the desk so it won't mare the top. It does not have a locking mechanism to keep the boom arm from swinging around when moved but there are no worries about pulling the boom arm out of the mount because the weight of the boom arm keep this solidly in the mount. There is some noise from the springs inside the boom arm when you move it but it isn't very loud. The springs are very strong and when I move the boom arm with the mic, it moves to where I want it and it stays put.....the mic will not sink down or raise up.Overall, I am very impress with this boom arm and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade from the old style (springs visible on the outside of boom arm) type of boom arm. The Auphonix boom arm is very solid, heavy duty, comes with an "on desk" mount and side mount and looks very stylish. Highly recommend

Clean mic stand
This mic stand is as sturdy as my older one but the look of it is so much cleaner. The springs are hidden inside which makes the arm look so much more sophistcated looking and seemingly take up less space. The arm is sturdy enough to hold my mic which to me is on the heavier side. It's movements are smooth and the extending is nice and rigid but maneuverable. I do notice more spring noise with this arm because I assume the springs inside the arm are knocking against the inside but that's ok as normally its a set it and forget it adjustment I make when using my mic. The arm looks to have a channel along the entire thing to fit a cable but I cannot find a cable that fits in there, I assume its for a thinner cable as my mic uses a type C cable and velcro onto the arm isnt as nice. I also wished that the mic arm came with a thread adapter as my 2 mics both have a larger thread than the one thats on the arm itself but luckily I had purchased a thread adapter for my old mic arm as well.Great quality mic arm, no creaking or noise besides the spring noise when extending, movements are smooth and precise, and the look is much more sleek than the usual cheaper mic arms.

Great
This is a much better stand than I was expecting. The only problem I really ever have with heavy mics on these stands is with the threading swivel at the end of the arm. This one is built so solid that I want it on every mic stand I own. Where others slowly droop or sag, this one feels like it could hold up a truck.I'm using a heavy King Bee II on it, and it holds it up without an issue. That things heavier than my Blue Yeti, and I was worried I wouldn't find a stand that'd support it. This stand was exactly what I was looking for. Everywhere I put the mic, it stays there. The spring on the inside is noisy when I move it. For whatever reason it got a little quieter after I attached the mic. I don't understand why, but it did. It still makes noise, but for the overall strength I'll take the occasional squeak here and there when I need to move it.It came with 2 clamp mounts. The round one sits more on top of the desk, and that's the one I use for clamping to an actual desk. The other one sits the stand just over the edge of the desk. I ended up using this one to clamp to my bookshelf to get it out of the way.Overall a fantastic stand.Highly recommended.
