Safety Warning The medicated plaster should be used for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms. The treatment duration should not exceed 5 days. Bronchospasm can occur in patients using ibuprofen who suffer or have previously suffered from bronchial asthma or allergies. Review: Use sports tape to keep in place and you'll be very happy with the result - I didn't know that these existed until a physiotherapist told me about them. They are excellent - but only if you can get them to stay in place! The instructions say not to cut them, but I cut them in half and they still work perfectly. At first I just stuck them on my sore hip flexor and unfortunately they would catch on my knickers and unstick every time I needed to go to the loo or undress. So now I use zinc oxide tape or sports tape and it works a treat. These patches are better than Ibuprofen pills for me. My daughter uses them on her knee and has to use tape and a knee sleeve to keep them in place but it is worth the faff. I just wish they would sell them in smaller sizes. The price isn't likely to come down until they sell a much greater volume of them! Best to be be safe ok. If you are able to use them, I well recommend this product. I cannot orally take anti-inflammatories as they make ill, but I can use the gel & patches & these are very good patches & lot cheaper than the shops. I suffer with chronic muscle spasms & back pain, my medication can only reduce the pain so much & I am at my limit for pill medication, so the patches help alot with my pain. But the price hurts worse than my knees do.... Despite the advice not to, you absolutely can cut them into squares with a set of kitchen scissors eg 3x2. They still work for minor aches and pains throughout the day this way, with the full patch only being necessary for something like a thrown back. It sticks well but does try to peel off with tighter clothes. Not that big a deal. Pain relief usually lasts 8-10h for me, results may vary with your pain tolerance and pain-killer tolerances.
