I never put the mug in the dishwasher but take the cover apart to wash it by hand at least once a week. I think the cover could be put into the upper part of the dishwasher but I don’t think it is necessary. **Q: If my cat pushes it off the table with lid locked, will it spill?** A: It will not spill, as long as you have the lid in the closed position. **Q: Can you use a straw with it?** A: No it’s a slit not a hole.
