I use them to sheer the backs of my Dorper hair sheep when they don't shed completely out. A little loud but the sheep calm down after a minute. Does a PERFECT FANTASTIC job for me on a small flock light duty.

I didn't buy this for shearing sheep. I've done that, and this is a decent set of clippers for the money. However, I bought this to shear a dog that has weird hair. So weird, it'll kill any normal dog grooming clippers. Went through five Wahl clippers in nothing flat. They'd dull down like I was cutting sandpaper with them. These probably shouldn't be used on dogs, unless you really know what you're doing, because you can cut the dog's skin. I didn't want to detract from their rating, because they are pretty good quality sheep shears. If I still had woolly sheep, I would've totally pleased with them. As it was, I wound up buying another more dog oriented style, and they worked better than anything ever has. So, in retrospect: Wahl sucks, these should be used on sheep, and you should look at the kind that don't look like regular barber's clippers. While these definitely cut hair that's difficult. They're a little dangerous for a dog, especially where your dog's back leg meets the body, and the knee area.

These sheep shears definitely get the job done — they cut through my dog’s thick double coat with no problem at all. The downside is that they’re quite heavy and a bit awkward to handle, which makes longer grooming sessions tiring. I also noticed the cut isn’t the most even; my pup looked a little patchy when I was finished. Still, for tough coats they work really well, just be prepared for the extra weight and practice needed to get a smoother finish. Also, it's very loud, which is expected. I was on the second and third speed setting.

Only used it a few times but very impressed so far. Cutting a golden doodle and it is exceptional. Can’t believe I didn’t get one sooner. Makes it so much easier.

This worked great to shave the bulk of my goldendoodle. It’s was a bit choppy looking so I went over everything again with my small clippers to even things out. It’s very powerful and can easily knick a dog’s skin so be very careful! Overall it made the process 10x faster to groom him.

I bought these clippers less than 3 months ago to shave my 30 year old horse who has Cushings Disease which causes a horse to continue to grow long hair even in summer time. Used the 1st day I got them. Had some troubles but was finally able to get the job done. Kept them oiled and cooled. Cleaned when finished. Got them out today because he needed clipping again. Started to cut a little hair and then nothing. I looked at them and noticed one of the clamp holder forks had broken off. Only has a 30 day warranty which has passed by about 2 months. Cannot find anywhere to buy replacement parts, as a matter of fact no information on company or clippers except buying through Amazon.. Will not buy again and will not recommend these to anyone. I do not consider these heavy duty clippers as a throw away product at $80. Very dissatisfied.

These clippers worked perfectly on Molly our long haired dog. In the past we had bought every kind of animal clipper, and always got frustrated with how bad of a job they done and would end up cutting her hair with scissors. I decided to give these a try and was blown smack dap away. As fast as I could push these babies would cut a streak. They are plenty powerful. Some have said they are noisey, and they do make some noise. I don't know is Molly was so relieved to get a haircut and get the matted spots off her bottom that she didn't even care if they made noise. Molly was only bothered by the noise when cutting up around her head. However, I cannot alone place blame on the noise the clippers makes, because she doesn't like the scissors any better around her head. They seem like they are well made. Easy to clean after each cutting. I am happy, and if you are getting these for a dog that you have had a hard time finding a clipper that will cut their fine, thick hair, I believe you will be happy too.

Cut through my dusty, dirty alpacas effortlessly. No problems to report.

They are heavy but worked really well. I ran mine for an hour straight in really hot weather and they didn't over heat.

Can't beat the price and the support has been great! We'd had an issue and the seller took care of it right away.
