I was going to spend $128 on a Free People denim skirt in their most recent spring/summer collection but decided to scour the Internet for other options. This skirt is phenomenal and now one of my staples. I wear it a couple times a week and I get complimented profusely every time I wear it out. It's a heavy, stretchy denim!! And it makes your booty look SO good. The closures are brass, it's extremely comfortable and worth every penny!!!!

This is an edited version of my earlier post as I have since worn the skirt. The fabric is of very good quality with lovely stretch. It is heavy and not suitable for hot weather. It fits well at the waist but was very fitted on the hips and backside. Not surprising since my waist is small relative to my hips so the skirt goes in under my backside and shapes me out more than I wished. I mentioned this for those who have a waist more than 10 inches smaller than their hip measurement. I will wear a bit longer top to compensate. I didn’t expect that in a skirt described as A-line. Despite this I am quite pleased with the skirt! It washes and irons well. I did not dry it in the dryer, it was hung to dry. There was no shrinkage and minimal leeching of color. I used a spray on fabric sizing during ironing and the skirt kept its shape and looks like new. I am between 5’5” and 5’6” it comes to the floor with 1 inch heels. I may shorten it an inch or so but I don’t really have to. I think the length would be fine on higher heels. I find the skirt heavy when walking. There were a few imperfections in the fabric on the pockets. Looked like small scratched areas. This is today’s fashion and common with denim. Overall I really like the skirt.

According to sizing chart, with my waist 33" I should've ordered an XL BUT I normally wear a medium. So I went with medium & it fits perfectly! If in doubt, go w your normal size. it has a slight stretch which adds to comfort. I had no problem with fade marks like other reviewers. No slit which, is perfect & not needed anyway. Easy to move in it & not at all constricting. Get it, you'll love it!

Heavy denim. You must like a Levi’s Jeans level of denim. I love that. It holds up so well. Wears great.Keeps you warm. Keeps legs covered.The Only thing is that the waist is very small. I have a hard time buttoning it. But with a longer top it’s fine.I’m a very big gal - 3XThis the best skirt I have ever had in 65 years!I have bought some low quality items on Amazon. This is not that.I have this exact skirt in 3 colors now.I have bought 2 More skirts from the Same company because I liked it so much. They are different styles so check those out too.I’m a real person. BTW. Just enthusiastic cuz it’s hard for me to find clothes I love.

The first time I ordered the skirt, the first thing I noticed was it was too long for my petite frame. But it fit well, and I really loved it--knowing I'd have to alter the length by about 7 inches (I'm 5'1.5") But THEN I noticed there was a distinct flaw of four significant scratches, around an inch and a half, in the front of the skirt over the right pocket and near the buttons. You can't miss it. So I sent it back and reordered it and got a second skirt. At first glance, there were no flaws in the fabric--but then I turned it around to the back side and there was the same flaw--in TWO places. I realized the machine producing the fabric probably did this, but since the flaws were not as significant to see, and on the back of the skirt in less conspicuous places, I decided not to make a big deal about it, and keep it. But just beware that if you want perfection, the fabric is flawed. I think I can fix it with a denim dye pen. If not, oh well. I can live with it.

I love the fit of the shirt, and the color is great also. I will definitely purchase another skirt from this vendor.

The reviews I read were all over the place so I took a chance on the size, looking at the hip measurement because I thought I could always have the waist altered. So, I hope my specifics help someone else because weight means nothing without body shape being taken into account: I'm 5'6", apple body shape. I weigh 135lbs. My waist is, oh, 32" (no thanks to are menopause) my hips 38", I have no rear-end to speak of and the Medium fits like a dream. It's gorgeous and I bought it specifically for my 3 pair of cowboy boots. The skirt is flattering, it really is.It's "kind"/forgiving for every shape, lots of flex/stretch, and decent weight denim. Go for it.I hope my review helps. Hopefully I can add to this by uploading a photo later.

Fits and looks just like the pics. Heavy weight denim, ankle length ( I’m 5’8”). Love the high waist and many-gored length. Washed well, needed just a little ironing. Will look great with boots or heels.
