DellSonicWALL 01-SSC-8575 SonicPoint Ni Secure Remote Wireless Access Point

Purchased 7 of these to go along with a tz210 router. The goal was to provide free guest wifi and secured access for office equipment at our motel. The overly complex interface was the first strike. The initial setup was smooth, but it took only 20 minutes before units started showing "non-responsive". After four MONTHS of dealing with resetting the access points minimum twice daily i got serious about finding a solution. many others had similar experiences and Sonicwall forums suggested setting 20mhz mode, disabling rf monitoring, and turning off auto channel. Everything was finally working smoothly until i needed to connect two more units down the street with wireless bridging equipment between. a wired client would connect fine at the far end, but the sonicpoints would not allow any connections and sonicwall support was unable to come up with a resolution.Eventually i sold all the sonic points and installed a Ubiquiti Unifi system. The entire system cost hundreds not thousands, It took literally minutes to configure and blows the sonicpoints away in every aspect for our needs.Pro's - Quality equipment hampered by its own complexityCons - They didnt work... I wasted tons of money on them.

I use these products all over the place. When used in conjunction with a Sonicwall router, they're unbeatable in functionality but not for the non-professional as configurations are not designed for your amateur hardware tech. I love them.

This product is HORRIBLE! Overpriced, hard setup, and not best choice. Sent the Sonicpoints back (4 = $1200) and went with Unify (6 = $400) and got better coverage, faster speeds, and easy setup.LET ME SAVE YOU SOME TIME : Go get Unify Access Points for your network and save your self the 4 week headache I had with the Sonicpoints.
