It's loose and a little goes a long way. It's easy to use without liquid, as a dust, but it could also be used as a paint. I used it on a cake topping and not one person, of many, including myself, thought it had any taste, which is great. It does make a little bit of a mess, as most dusts do, but it's easy to clean...came right out of my brush and left no residue. My gloves though! Lol The non-toxic and food safe mica makes this a great shiny luster for chocolate, fondant, gum paste, or other pastries.
