🌠 Reach for the stars with ease!
The Astromania Finder Scope is a 9x50 right-angle optical finderscope designed for astronomical telescopes. It features a 50mm objective lens for enhanced visibility of deep-sky objects, achromatic optics for clear images, and a comfortable 90-degree viewing angle. The fully multi-coated surfaces minimize reflections, ensuring a bright and true-to-life viewing experience. This finderscope is compatible with most telescopes and allows for easy alignment adjustments.

Very Nice Finderscope
The 90 degree angle makes a HUGE difference on my Mak-Cas telescope and the field of view and light gathering made finding objects in the sky easier and more pleasant without straining your eyes. The finder scope is solid and well made.

Nice fit for my Skywatcher 102mm
I really can't find anything negative to say about this scope.Went right on the mount that came with the telescope. It took me about four minutes to adjust.Use a low power eyepiece during day light, sight something a mile or two out like a house or a hill or a flag pole top.Put it in to the center view of your telescope, then align and adjust your finder scope on the same object you have centerd in the scope and you are there. The Lazer finder that came with this scope was o.k.....but with dimmer objects I find it better to use this finder as it justs work better than the naked eye when finding star clusters or dim objects....and works really good on planets too.I don't understand the negative reviews....but if you don't have a standard size dove tail mount on your telescope I guess it could be a problem. There is a list of scopes this finder will work on in the discrption section of this ad for the scope......

good customer support, good product
I wanted to upgrade my scope with a 9x50 angled finder scope and this seemed to fit the bill. was very busy and did not take it out of the box for three months to make my swap, and found there was a damaged thread on the spring post. the view was bright, It had been packaged well and arrived quickly, but could not align it. I contacted seller to buy a replacement thread, and they wanted to ship me a new mount assembly instead- as a warranty despite it now being 4 months from purchase. When it arrived, mounted it, aligned it to the telescope, and all is well. no complaints at all, and very much lower price for this spec. the support is the best. the product does a great job.

You get what you pay for
My dislikes are several, the caps that cover the front element and eyepeice are rubberized and collect dirt and dust. I like to put cap keepers on my caps but the keepers will not stick to the rubber caps. The cap for the front element does not fit and is hard to slip on easily. The cross hairs are so thick that they completely hide all but the brightest stars. The cross hairs are also tilted with the top portion of the cross hair at about 10:30, instead of 12:00 like all my other finder scopes.Other than that it seems as though it will work.

MUCH brighter than my old (approx 8X25) finder scope. I see more stars to help get my bearings.
This finder makes a nice bright image. The crosshairs are not lighted but I had no problem seeing them even on a dark moonless night. The field of view is wide enough to easily include all 3 of Orion's belt stars and then some. Views of the Pleiades or Orion's sword with this finder scope are awesome. For some views I prefer to look through this finder scope rather than the main telescope! Focusing is a bit unusual. There is a ring behind the objective lens you have to back off away from the objective, then screw the objective in or out until you reach focus. The threads on it are very fine so you may have to turn it quite a bit to reach focus. Then re-tighten the ring up against the objective to lock it in place. The eyepiece can be rotated to orient the crosshairs any way you want.

Horrible steadiness and mounting adjustment =Poor Alignment
The actual scope has clear optics. Very nice, sharp magnification.BUT, its housing mount and adjustment screws are HORRIBLE.I could not get the screws ever properly adjusted to enable proper alignment. The movements were not accurate, smooth and usable, but jerky and rough. So after lots of emails and tome wasting with the Sales department at Astromania, I returned this to Amazon. Base shoe which I also purchased wouldn't attach securely either and again another frustration. The experience has been beyond irritating and frustrating. You expect things to work and be usable. In astronomy compromises and imprecision aren’t admirable or desired outcomes. When you spend $3000 on a telescope and mount that does not come equipped with a finder scope, and then purchase supposedly compatible parts that are self described as such, only to find they DO NOT FIT or provide proper alignment, then you feel duped and lied to. How is any of this considered a good or satisfactory outcome? As usual, you end up spending more money by buying another product from another manufacturer to get what was needed. So learn from my experience, don’t waste time, money and HUGE amounts of time going back and forth, repacking, driving to UPS, reshipping back for a refund (hopefully), and then starting all over again elsewhere with another week of time for ordering, shipping.Don’t bother.

.
This is gonna save a lot of weird back breaking angles trying to align stuff. It works great and fit into the previous finderscope holder for my OT. So I didn't have to change much! I’m very pleased!

Difficult to align
Optically, this finder is quite decent. No complaint there. But it has a three-point alignment scheme, of which only two screws can actually be adjusted. The finder is still loose in the bracket, and there's no effective way to tighten it so that it doesn't move. Also, I ordered this finder as part of "bundle" with an Astromania mounting shoe for the scope. The mounting shoe was supposed to ship via USPS. Despite notifications that the mounting shoe was due to arrive on a particular day, the shoe never shipped, and it never arrived. However, I got a refund for the nonexistent mounting shoe. I ordered and received a different mounting shoe.

Luminoso y claro
