Best Book on 'Earthing/Grounding'..Going Barefoot is Best for Your Health
I have seen Michael Sander on YouTube, and was thrilled to find out he wrote a barefoot book! He is the reason I am running injury-free. So, I decided to buy this book for my BF. My BF loved this book so much, especially the parts about earthing/grounding and how it helps with inflammation in the body. My BF now earths as a form of recovery after running, and he has improved his marathon time by 1 hr. He was also selected to race the NYC marathon, and I believe this book played a huge part of my BF's and my success as endurance runners. What I like most about this book, is that Sandler provides easy-to-understand research-backed concepts about how going barefoot stimulates better movement coordination in the brain and spinal cord, and how going barefoot automatically strengthens the entire body, giving you better reflexes and improves mood as well. I would certainly recommend this book to all runners, especially beginners!

Walk don't run lol!
I'm a barefoot runner yet I find for the most part that I am able to walk barefoot more places than I am able to run. I bought the Barefoot Running book by Sandler and Lee. I loved the barefoot running book. In fact I went to Maui to experience the "reality" of what I saw in the subsequent movie by Sandler. Yep for sure it is entirely doable though I have been doing this for 5 years. Yet I and wondered why a walking book? I really loved it because I think the walking approach provides the benefits and is much more accessible to people than a running approach. I think this is because to run barefoot you must start slow and people sometimes being lazy want shortcuts. Walking however is a much more reasonable introduction to the benefits of an unshod life with most of the benefits. I am so happy to see this book because I think it will reach more than just runners and in a real way. I think the presentation is complete and actually is a fun book to leaf through (on my iPad Kindle edition) LOL. I only hope we'll see more barefoot accessibility as more appreciate the benefits of plugging in.

A book about Paleo walking, bought because I'm having ...
A book about Paleo walking, bought because I'm having some structural foot and balance issues. The authors adopted barefoot walking and running and underwent many of the problems new barefoot walkers encounter and write about it for 400 pages. I haven't finished the book yet but my impression is they have left no stone umturned, given their basic assumption that barefoot walking is the one path to foot health and recovery.

Intriguing
Wow. This book really opened up my eyes to how weak our feet have become due to modern day foot wear. The author has been through a lot of pain to get where he is today. He had fallen arches, and had a titanium femur implanted due to an accident. Since he began barefoot walking and running he has had no injuries and his old arch pain is a distant memory. His feet are strong and have developed as our feet should have without shoes. The book also goes over using a forefoot strike when walking or running instead of the heel. Which does make a lot of sense when you read more about the mechanics of our body. His pace for breaking free from your shoes is a slow process, which is good. Your feet have become week due to years of wearing "hand weights"(shoes). Rebuilding the muscles in your feet take time and this book is careful about doing it the right way. There are some parts that are a little to hippie for me but didn't ruin the book or reading experience at all.

Love This New Way of Walking
As a lifelong, long-distance walker and hiker, I've been having problems with my knees and feet the past couple of years. The recent (I'm talking a month and a half) re-discovery of running and walking barefoot (I grew up going barefoot in Hawaii and NEVER had foot problems until coming to the mainland.) is helping me heal and get stronger.Well organized and clearly written, this book has a lot of good information on how to start slowly and build up your feet, the physiological reasons that support walking and living in minimal shoes, and how walking barefoot can support a more focused and less stress-filled life.I've only been doing this a short time and have already begun to feel positive changes to the injured ligaments around my knees (I was wearing braces every time I went walking or worked outside for the past year or so.) and the healing of an incredibly painful bunion.Since going barefoot more, gardening and walking and hiking barefoot, the muscles in my legs have strengthened and I've not even thought about wearing a brace when walking or going up stairs. I'm able to walk 10 miles or more at a time with almost no pain during or after to my foot. At 54, I am currently training for my fourth half-marathon race-walk, and my legs are stronger than before, my feet much less painful and my knees and hips not hurting afterward. I credit the method and guidance outlined in this video and their book and look forward to more books and videos from this team.
