Ukulele from Scratch

I bought the Barirone Uke From Scratch book and successfully taught myself the instrument and joined two Uke Jam sessions in my community. Unfortunately I had to put down the Bari-Uke because of shoulder problems and upgraded my instrument in quality and downgrade the size to the tenor. THEN, I bought this book. After having close to a year of experience I am relearning a new key...discovering mistakes in my technique, my bad habits and improving my skills. This book is full spectrum...chords, strums, picking, chord family's, etc. I dont usually do reviews but this book deserves one. My only wish, not a complaint, because the book really delivered in a very humble voice. Please write another...teach me how to learn the notes and the fret board. Aloha!

I have know Bruce for years. All of his books are top notch. I purchased a Ukulele for my wife. I thought it might be best for Bruce to teach her than me. LOLThis is a very comprehensive book, easy to read, and great progression from beginner to advanced. Best Ukulele book I have ever seen. Highly recommended.

This is a really great book to begin learning the ukulele. He breaks the process down so that you can pick up the proper techniques .

I have several Ukulele instruction books & this is everything a beginner or intermediate player needs. The writing is fun and goes into some need to know theory without being tedious. Thinking about getting the authors guitar instruction as well.

The writer is very funny, enjoys sharing ukulele information, and provides very clear and easy to follow instructions on the basics of playing the ukulele. Highly recommend!

I have some of Bruce's other books and like them, this one is great for new Uke players. It takes you from very basics to a good grasp of chords and chord theory. Also included is strumming and fingerstyle techniques for the ukulele. He incorporates theory with the lessons and songs and has you playing songs right away.

This is the ultimate ukelele book. You can learn everything you ever wanted to learn in a fun, easy method.
