I enjoyed the specifics this book has--temps and humidities for various produce, as well as information on smaller-scale alternatives like a Zeer pot, and old-fashioned techniques like the "spring house." This has no specifics on how to build, really, but a plethora of information on planning, cleaning, storage, prevention of problems, etc. Worth reading!

I liked how thorough the book was in showing a variety of types of root cellars. There was also a chart for different types of produce and how they like to be stored. And a more in depth paragraph on each produce item with a list of specific varieties that store well.

I'm planning to build a root cellar soon so I read this book hoping to get some helpful tips. I was not disappointed! It covered everything I wanted to know and even more. This book had so much information that I'm going to read it again, this time with a highlighter.

The title is a joke. Absolutely zero details about building a root cellar. Only a couple pages mention a vague idea about general root cellar building. Nothing in this book will help you build a root cellar. All the information in this book can be found easily on Google. Feels like it was written by AI

This book has much info about root cellars, but nothing which couldn’t be accessed online. As well, this book could have been made better with very specific plans for building roots cellars with corresponding images. Otherwise, everything in the book can be found for free. Disappointed.

Would prefer to give zero stars, this book was written by AI, do not waste your money. Many inconsistencies throughout the book, it’s not a large book and it repeats itself over and over, some stuff is accurate but you would be better off looking for that information on a reputable website for free or find a reputable author to buy from.

There is very little useful information in this book. It seems to me to be a cheap ripoff of simple junk from the internet.And almost nothing on the science or building of a root cellar.

This book reads like a slapped together bunch of internet high-level general info that has lots of repeated text. Don't waste your time. Sorry to be harsh but a real disappointment.
