Werner Camano Premium Fiberglass Kayak Paddle

As other reviewers have mentioned, owning this paddle has turned me into a paddle snob. I own this paddle in the 230cm length and the Werner Carbon Cyprus in the 210cm length. Both are ultra light weight, well-constructed, and they slice through water with NO resistance. I can paddle for miles with EASE and without fatigue, and no arm or shoulder soreness later. either. Yes, they're expensive. But I firmly believe that I got everything I paid for with this purchase. The quality is simply unmatched, the style is just plain pretty, and the locking mechanism is great, too.With the amount of time and money I spent choosing the most streamlined, lightweight touring kayak for me-- I wanted a paddle that could measure up. The first time I took my kayak and paddle to the shore, I could not wipe the grin off my face and kept repeating to my friend "I have experienced PERFECTION!"-- as my friend floundered farrr behind in a standard rec kayak with a heavier, non-Werner fiberglass paddle. Simply put, I love my Werner paddles. And whole-heartedly recommend them to any buyers out there.

Maybe this is premature but I give this paddle TEN STARS! Granted, I am upgrading from a cheap, box store paddle. ...I took it out for a few hours today. Wind gusts up to 21mph, crazy motor boaters everywhere. The wind and waves hardly slowed me down. I traversed twice my normal mileage with no fatigue at all. I will be able to explore much further :D I am easily able to keep up with every one else now too! This paddle is amazing! It is so lightweight, felt powerful and smooth cutting through the water. I truly felt like I was in a new kayak! I also didn’t get soaked like I did with my old paddle (drip guards and all). I’m in love 😍 Worth every penny!

There is nothing that can be said that other reviewers haven't covered. When needing to paddle across lakes – or any situation that will make your arms burn this paddle is the bees knees! It is light and really bites into the water. With my old paddle it was hard for me to keep up with other kayakers; This paddle really propels a kayak across the water. This paddle is not the kind of paddle I would use in a smash it up river. I guess now it is time to get a cheaper paddle probably a Skgit to grind against rocks and use as a river tool. Over all this paddle will make a kayaker into a paddle snob! I love it!

After trying out an entry level paddle in the 60.00 price range, I splurged on the Werner Camano. Wow! The difference is remarkable. Using the measurement guide, I selected the 230cm based on my kayak measurements and my height of 5"4.Amazon is great, but this particular purchase was made elsewhere because they had it on sale and carried it in the small shaft. The multiple adjustments for feathering are really cool! This paddle slices into the water and I don't feel the fatigue I experienced with the cheaper paddle. Despite being a beginner, I'm able to paddle for hours at a time without strain out in Tampa bay.

beautiful paddle - lightweight - stiff - high quality construction.Once I adjusted my technique for this paddle, from the cheap aluminum/rubber-ish one w/smaller surface area, able to get good power/forward motion while maintaining a smooth, quiet stroke. Did a little 10-miler up river and back and all was good. 3/4 of the way thru, switched 'yak/paddle w/freind - and wow...the difference really showed - you know what you have when you go back/don't have it anymore.

I paddle with a group of experienced older paddlers who all enjoy top equipment. This paddle was the most comfortable one to use of all our paddles. Good for my wrist pain. Good for my friend's shoulder pain. It is lighter and easier to pull and yet somehow efficient. I like the fact that it snaps into Right Left or Center. I use it for ocean touring and easily kept up with the paddlers whose paddles irritate my old injuries. The blue/green fish scales one wasn't my taste online but it was beautiful on and in the water and coordinated the colors of my boat and PFD. Homerun! It was worth the price because it is a one time purchase that makes my sport so much more enjoyable. I'm glad every time I see it! It replaces a top paddle that got lost.

I've no experience using other paddles, so I can't offer a comparative opinion. I'm indeed pleased with this Werner. It's super light, feels and looks high quality. I would've gone full carbon, but for the fact all models are in black only. Being a wilderness paddler, I prefer something with color (yellow blades in my case) for visibility, both to be seen by others, or make it easier to find in the bush or water if it blows away. The blades seem strong, yet I'm cautious about shoving off rocks..hard to say how much force I can apply. I probably overpaid for this, as I couldn't locate anything locally with the color / length combination I wanted. Oh well.

I've paddled mostly Hobie kayaks and have been pleased enough with the stock paddles they came with. When compared with the stock paddles of other brands, they're really quite nice. But then... I tried a Werner paddle.I will never look back. This is such a joy to use. It felt a little different when I first started using it as the blade would seemingly "pop" out of the water, helping me with my paddle stroke!I'm able to cover MUCH more water, kayak fishing, with this paddle than anything before. I won't go back to anything inferior. And the designs offered are simply gorgeous!
