An excellent choice for an emergency battery operated radio
I bought two of these for the hurricane emergency stash. One for my house and one for my mom's. Of course I checked them each before they were put in the plastic bins and I was amazingly surprised at how well they work. I had looked at another that was similar and it had complaints about the antenna pulling out. This does not have that problem. I did give it a little extra tug just to make sure I very quickly found our weather radio signal and it came in pretty clear. Then I turned it to FM and moved the dial just a tiny bit and the radio station came in clear. Definitely a good choice for an emergency stash. Normally I deal with digital only, but I read an article about the tuning dial was a better choice during an emergency. So I decided to go that way. I had no problems finding the right frequencies, these are so cheap that they should not have worked as good as they do, it looks just like it looks in the picture. Pretty simple very pragmatic. No bells and whistles which means far less to break.

Best NOAA Pocket Radio Under $20.
This Greadio 239WB is the latest purchase of four Weather Band radios from Amazon ranging in price from $10-20. It by far is the best performer. It is a very good value for the money, even though it’s the most expensive of the group, at $19.90.Other units had glaring deficiencies such as muffled audio on the AM band, another had audible distortion on FM. The 239WB performs well on all three bands. It’s attractively boxed, and the fit and finish of the radio is excellent. And lastly, Greadio provides you with a 12-month warranty and their contact information. Something you almost never see at this price point. So, in conclusion, I would highly recommend the Greadio 239WB for a pocket-sized Weather Radio.

Great radio!
This is a great little radio. Clear reception and easy to us. I need the NOAA service as I live in Florida and have to evacuate during hurricanes & when the power is out, this radio will be my only connection to what's happening weather wise. Worth the $19.99. I needed to contact customer service with a question & his response was timely & professional. Thank you Lois for the excellent customer service!!!

Time of the year for lots of bad weather here in Kansas. Like this radio due to the weather band which keeps us informed. Have added this to our storm shelter

Don't pass this little gem up!
I would have bought this a year a go because I wanted a transistor radio like the ones years ago, so I could take it fishing, but I thought for that low price it wouldn't be very good. Fishing season coming around and still hadn't found anything, I decided to try it, what the heck, I could send it back. I turned it on and right a way I was getting loud and clear stations. I can even get my favorite station, that I usually have a hard time getting on my home radio. I haven't even tried the weather station. I'm not disappointed at all. I usually don't do reviews but wanted other people not to overlook this, small light weight gem. Haven't taken this fishing yet because of the weather, but I'll make a bet that it won't disappoint me!

Tips easily…
Great little radio, great reception. Only complaint is that it’s side heavy (where batteries are), tips very easily. It’s a struggle just to keep it upright, a fly could tip it over. Base needs to be a little wider.
