Very nice set.

I broke my favorite mixing bowl and am looking for a replacement. What I like about these is the depth. I can put the same amount of ingredients in the largest bowl, and it takes up less space in my cabinet. The weight of the bowl is great, weight less than my previous bowl, the workmanship is good, nice product, I am glad I bought it.

I was going these bowls would be big enough to be useful and they are. I wanted a large bowl for mixing dough and such. This looks great. And they are beautiful enough to use as serving bowls.

As advertised, and packaged carefully

So, I could have spent less by buying just a large and a medium mixing bowl. The large one is not enormous, like my old Roseville bowl, which broke after 20-some years due to heating/cooling stress cracks, which happens over time with ceramic bowls used for cooking/baking XL casseroles, etc. But the large bowl is a nice size for mixing cake batter, large batches of cookie dough, and some good size dishes that require more capacity than an oblong 2" deep pyrex baking dish to cook them in. (Think big family dinners with multiple hungry teenagers present!) So not many bowls that I can bake/roast in are too large for my needs. (I enjoy cooking). The medium bowl is nice for whisking egg and mixing smaller quantities of sauce or other smaller concoctions. As far as the smallest 'mixing' bowl goes, i think of it as a "throwaway" bowl,, meaning that while it isn't totally useless, the only thing it is capacious enough to use it for is a soup bowl, only if you need one extra beyond a complete set. It only holds one pint, and I never fill a soup bowl more than about half full--soup is too hot to spill or splash. Thus the 4 stars instead of 5.

I hunted high and low for ceramic bowls to replace a broken and damaged Pyrex set. The glass bowls became scratched and were never very attractive to begin with. Ceramic bowls were harder to find than glass or metal. And the ones I did find were mostly expensive with long shipping times. The Dowan bowl set was inexpensive so I didn't expect much. To my delight I have found the blue color assortment and the sizes ideal for prepping and serving. They are easy to clean and the finish seems sturdy, although time will tell about durability. They nest nicely and save space in my cabinets. I decided to write a review because I was surprised by the quality and utility of these bowls given the relatively low price.

I was looking for a bowl for bread making . This was such a surprise to get this beautiful set of mixing bowls.

After my favorite mixing bowl broke, I was on the hunt for non-melamine replacement. I tried these and really like them! Great quality, packaged well without styrofoam, arrived in good shape. The base on the bottom of the bowl is minimal- I was afraid it would make the bowl less stable, but it is not as tall as it seems in the photo to me.
