Loved this book, highly recommend.
Within the first few pages, I was hooked. I loved the writing style and pace of this book. Danica the FMC is a true strong and independent woman, loved her. This is the first of Stacia's books I've read and I will most certainly be reading more. Looking forward to jumping into book 2, this is going to be a series I know I will be re-reading over and over again.

excellent book
One could argue it very predictable but who cares there’s magic, witches, demons and plenty of other paranormal beings thrown into a world where magic has been forced down everyone’s throat. Our hero is a snarky witch forced to investigate murders by a very powerful foe.

Demons
Ok so I need to read the rest of the series just to find out what is going on. I felt like I was fumbling a little as not much is explained fingers crossed there's more information in the next book.

Fab story!
I loved this story about Demon King Samael and bounty hunter witch Danica. Danica recently received photos of her murdered mother and is desperate to find out who killed her. She steals a knife from Samael and also tried to interrogate one of his guests but gets caught. Lots of demons are being murdered and Samael wants the perpetrator apprehended. He strikes a deal with Danica where she will be bonded to him for 2 weeks and if she solves the problem and kills those responsible, then he will let her go. Danica also has had her powers bound and has lessons from Samael to try and break through to her powers. There is a sizzling connection between the Demon and the witch and Danica doesn't want to admit that Damsel cares for her. Looking forwards to the next instalment.

Fantastic start to a series
I could not put this book down. The world building was excellent, Danica was strong and engaging without being over the top. Samuel is just yummy without being blind to Danica's faults. The story introduces you to a world 70 years after portals flooded the world with paranormal creatures. Danica is trying to find out who killed her mother and gets caught up having to investigate demon murders. You will not be disappointed if you give this author and series a try!

Absolutely addicted!
God, I didn’t know I needed a good paranormal, Urban romance till I started reading this. It made me immensely happy to turn each page.Ugh, everything about this book (series) made me happy!I finished this series in under a week! I was that obsessed with it. If you still haven’t gotten the memo, I will never stop recommending this series.Samael and Dannika will always have a place in my heart. They gave me Raphael and Elena and Nevada and Mad Rogan vibes.I loved everything- the characterisation, the world building, the writing style, secondary characters, mysteries, myths and lore, romance, action, solid and suspenseful plots.I don’t want to give more away but if you like:— Demon x badass witch.— Unique world building, unexpected twists and turns.— mythical beings, Demons, Witches, gnomes, Mages, werewolves, seelie, unseelie, pixies🧚♂️, Dragons!— found family, politics, forced proximity, he falls first and hard, touch her and die vibes.— Unexpected betrayal and friendships.— badass heroine, Epic climaxes, family drama .— Safe, Kindle Unlimited.….READ THIS!

wonderful book
I really enjoyed this book. It had a great, engaging plot line as well as interesting main characters. A great interpretation of the demon trope. Definitely worth a read, keen for the next book.

Binge worthy-with well thought out plot
*spoiler alert*Okay so the series was way better than you’d expect- especially in this genre. Good plot that goes beyond the “possessive alpha male trope”. The female protagonist is actually pretty badass, humorous and doesn’t just magically solve all her problems by virtue of being the main character or by boning the male lead (yes, refreshing change of pace in the genre). There was enough thought and research put behind the plot and details for me to appreciate it and basically binge the whole series.Highlights: I loved learning about the fantasy world and the thought behind the world building, was quite interesting to explore the dynamics of this fantasy world. I liked that the characters were “flawed” but likeable and most importantly actual bad behaviour was later acknowledged and corrected (really tired of the toxic male characters so often seen in this genre so this was super refreshing). Also super refreshing to see a female lead who is also a badass (and the author put in a lot of details about the character’s combat abilities and how that meshes in her everyday life) while also learning her limits and knowing when to ask for help (eventually). Also loved how the story encompasses so many different and colourful characters (outside of the male and female leads) with meaningful interactions and roles in the story.Ultimately, was this the best piece of literature I’ve ever read? No, but I’m not looking for high-brow life changing works in YA fantasy romance. But this was definitely a well thought out, and well written series that was difficult to put down until I finished both this and the next series in this world, and I know I’ll be following for any future spin offs.Definitely preferred the Deals with Demons series over Bargains with Beast but that’s mostly due to my affinity for Danica+Samael as a couple. 12/10 for a YA fantasy.
