They feel like they would last a really long time, and I'm sure that if you have a shoe with a lot of spacing between the eyelets these would give an amazing fit, and you could easily adjust how tight they feel. However, on my Vans they feel incredibly loose, even after making up a custom lace pattern to make them as tight as possible. I got these so I could have tight skate shoes, without worrying about my laces getting caught in my wheels, but I'll have to keep looking.
