This is a miracle formula!
***UPDATE: Our daughter is now 15.5 months (dec. 2019) she was started on this Dec. 7, 2018. At 9 Months we were able to start mixing PurAmino with enfamil and by 12 months she was completely on enfamil. We started whole milk at 12.5 months and even now At 15 months she is now drinking whole milk with absolutely no issues. This formula is a miracle. It really is. It helped solved so many issues. Our daughter no longer has to see a pediatric GI doctor. She has been discharged from the clinic! She outgrew her reflux, milk and protein intolerance. We were able to take her off all of her meds for her stomach issues at 6-7 months old. This stuff is expensive and we often had to go between ordering at pharmacies and ordering on Amazon because prices would rise and lower. I am so grateful that my daughter is able to consume dairy and has no allergies. Under the direction of a doctor, if you’re recommended this, give it a go. Our daughter had issues with the taste and constipation at first so we tried other protein-formulas and ended back at this one. I would give this formula 10 stars ⭐️ If I could. ———— My daughter has sever reflux, milk allergy, a protein intolerance to where she can’t digest proteins, and trouble gaining weight. Our pediatric GI doctor recommended we try this first and he gave us a can to sample, he also told us about neonate if we wanted to try that. At first my daughter didn’t like PurAmino and would not eat much and had severe constipation. So we decided to try neocate, she projectile vomited EVERY time we gave it to her. So we tried neocate’s advanced formula with probiotics. She was a pooping machine and wouldn’t eat. After consulting with her GI, he asked us to try this again. So we did and voila! Baby slowly began eating more and her poops became more regular! She is gaining weight on this tremendously! So happy we tried it again! Baby is now happy after eating, no screaming or pain, and falls asleep easily. Her spit up has decreased.

Worked so great for my little one
This formula has been a lifesaver for our family. After struggling with multiple other options, PurAmino was the only one that worked for my baby’s allergies and sensitive stomach. Within just a few days, we noticed a huge improvement—less gas, less fussiness, and no more painful reactions. It does have a stronger smell and taste compared to regular formulas, but that’s normal for hypoallergenic blends, and my baby adjusted quickly. The price is high, but the peace of mind and comfort it gives our little one make it worth every penny. I’m so thankful we found this formula—it truly gave us relief after months of trial and error. Highly recommend for parents navigating allergies or protein sensitivities. If you do make the switch also talk to your PCP because ours was able to get some cans a month through insurance!

Lifesaver for Babies with GERD
Puramino formula has been a lifesaver for our baby with GERD. We tried several other formulas, but this is the only one that works—no more reflux, better sleep, and happier feedings. It’s easy to prepare and has made a huge difference in our daily routine. Highly recommend for babies with sensitive tummies!

Dramatic Change - Growing & Healthy
This formula has kept my son healthy and growing strong since only a few days after birth. We had a very difficult first few months that began after starting him on a regular infant formula at the hospital. Despite noticing a lot of spitup, we were assured that it was normal - and this being our first child, we didn't really know any better. After being discharged from the birth stay, things progressed and worsened, my newborn son started to look withdrawn, his color was bad, he was fussy constantly, and he was projectile vomiting after every bottle. We were rushed back to the hospital at 4 days old and spent a week there trying to determine what was wrong. Come to find out, it was a severe milk allergy. They started us on nutramigen but he was still unable to process that so PurAmino was the next step. I was lucky enough to be in a city where a PurAmino distributor delivered us a sample right away so that we could stop feeding my son the formulas his body couldn't handle. Within a few days, he had a complete turnaround. He was alert, happy, and finally putting weight back on. He is now 16 months old, very smart, and since getting him onto PurAmino, he's been growing at a steady rate. He's now 98% in height and 95% in weight and quickly transitioning onto solids. But, one of the best things about PurAmino is that the taste he grew to love and depend on since birth is one that can stay with him until he is fully weaned from bottles at 2 years of age. As a mom to a child with such a severe allergy to dairy (and soy), I feel comfortable knowing that he can get the nutrition he needs from this formula for a little bit longer than the classic 12 month mark. That lets me sleep better at night... and keeps him growing strong and healthy. I don't know where we would be without PurAmino. It is expensive, but given the options we were facing, I couldn't be more thankful to have had access to this formula. And, for what its worth, I always purchased it from Amazon directly which made the hectic chaotic life with a newborn just a tad simpler too!

Check Insurance Coverage
This stuff is a life saver. We have preemie twins, and Puramino got them back on track after a long stretch in which they had a lot of trouble eating normal formula. However, that's not the point of this review. Chances are if you're even looking at this highly specialized formula, you know you need it. Here are two things you also need to know: 1. If you have been blessed with multiples (i.e. twins, triplets, etc.), Mead Johnson has a program in which you can periodically get cases of this stuff for free. This formula gets expensive, so don't miss out on this if you qualify. To take advantage of this program you will need to go through your pediatrician, but it is well worth the effort. In our case, the Mead Johnson sales rep had several cans ready for us the same day our pediatrician made her request to the company. 2. Talk to your baby's pediatrician about having this formula covered by insurance. In some states, insurance companies are MANDATED to cover this if your child has been diagnosed with certain allergies, digestive issues, etc. I can't speak for all states, but here in Texas our insurance company will foot the bill for our future elemental formula needs. Mead Johnson and the makers of Elecare both had helpful information on their websites regarding which states mandate elemental formula coverage. Doing your homework and asking your doctor the right questions could save you a bundle.

Worked Wonders for my baby...
It’s been an adventure (and not in a good way) trying to find the right formula for my baby. This is my 4th child and had never encountered anything like this before. I wasn’t able to breastfeed due to some health issues. Here is what we tried previously, in the order we tried it. Similac pro advance: daughter was extremely fussy all day Barely slept Gasy Bad face rash Would scream and arch back in pain while feeding Eventually had poop in stool I was extremely concerned and took her to her dr. Nutramigen (8 weeks old was changed to this milk): Better, slept more but still not how she should be Extremely gassy and would cry when passing gas Would cry while pooping every time Still had scaly skin on her face Eventually had blood in poop along with mucous Puramino (at 12 weeks): Made a huge difference Slept better Happy baby Less gassy No more crying while pooping But still scaly skin in face Kabrita toddler (decides to try it after reading Aton of reviews. Seemed like this helped with the dry flaky skin); Daughter cried at first feeding like she was in extreme pain Shortly after she pooped and it was a acidy and mucous Projectile throw up all night This was the worst decision I could have made. I should have just stuck with puramino. Puramino is the best one so far. After our experience with Kabrita, I’m hesitant to try anything else. Wish we could get rid of her scaly skin, but outside of that she’s good. It is expensive but worth every penny to see her in peace and see her smile. I also wouldn’t try switching formulas without consulting her pediatrician. I made the choice with Kabrita and saw an immediate negative reaction and it was extremely scary.

Talk to doc before you buy
While this formula is just what my son needed Insurance should cover. My son sees a GI doc because of his severe milk allergy and this was the prescribed formula . Now, my daughter now 4 was on it as an infant and because doc gave me a prescription for it I was able to write off on my taxes as a medical expense. Now, my son going through it as well but now my GI doc said a law was passed and since it’s a diagnosed condition they have to cover it. I bought some of these while insurance kicked in and now I get them delivered for free all through insurance. My GI doc took care of getting it covered and all set up. Product is awesome but check with doc to see if you can get it covered

Best formula for milk allergy and reflux!!!!
Update July 2020: I had a second child in 2019. Same issues minus the food allergies (he has to be tested). I had a milk supply, but my child reacted to it. Had to stop breast feeding. My child has reflux with milk protein allergy - his butt was raw from diarrhea and his reflux was triggering. I already knew the signs and got the prescription for Puramino from our MD, and had the prior authorization done by her. We filled it with CVS this time, and have had no issues ordering refills. As soon as he started the formula, his butt cleared up within a few days, burping with no regurgitation. We had solid stools. He's been on it for over a year, drinking it like a champ. Still can't tolerate milk, even lactose free milk, and has reflux (using First Lansoprazole aka Prevacid); but going to try to switch over to Puramino Jr, hopefully that goes well too. I could not recommend this formula enough. It is a lifesaver. Old review: My son is five now, but had severe reflux along with a milk allergy and food allergies for the first 3 years of his life. This formula saved his life. He could not tolerate any formula, not even Pregestamil or Elecare. They would trigger the reflux. I had resorted to trying to start my milk supply again, and then I came across Puramino. I received a sample from Enfamil, tried it and heard my son burp for the first time unassisted. I started crying. My son started putting on weight steadily from there, only having issues when we had to change medicine for reflux to Prevacid, because Ranitidine stopped working. I paid a lot for Puramino out of pocket, but it can be covered by insurance, do a prior auth with your doctor. I used to get my monthly supply from Walgreens, until my son was weaned. It was so worth it.
