I am not certain that this product actually cuts off power when IOS device is fully charged, as it claims. The led indicator indeed pulses red when you first plug in, and turns green when the charge reaches 100%, and some time after that the led tuns off all together only returning to green intermittently for a short period of time. I quickly check my phones charging status and regardless of what the led indicator says on the cord, my phone says it is charging. The packaging does not actually declare that this is a "smart" cable and mentions nothing of its automatic cut off feature. There is no documentation, instruction, information, or specification literature included with this product; which fuels my suspicion that it does not actually have the capability to cut power to the phone, and that it instead merely has a fancy light detailing the battery power level.The instant you unplug the phone the charging icon changes, the battery turns form green to white and the lightning bolt is removed, and plugging the phone back in with the screen on brings up a full screen confirmation that it is charging. the fact that the charging icon never changes while this cord is plugged in, and i do not get the full screen confirmation while the screen is on and the charging indicator on the cord changes from green to red; feels like a solid indication that it does not function as advertised.The concept is nice, we spend a small fortune on these smart phones and tablets upgrading them every 2-4 years, and their batteries are a major concern. we have been told time and time again that overcharging them reduces their capacity and longevity; it would be nice to to be able to plug it in at night and know it will only charge to full and then stop.Its a solid feeling/looking cord though. Seems to be made of decent materials, and my phone does not complain about it not being a certified accessory; so that is a plus. however i am not certain that its a 30 dollar benefit to have an extra foot and a half of cable and a two color led.

Seems to work very well. Turns off when phone is fully charged. Sturdy cable.
