I purchased this to protect a broken tip on my skeg. The tip was actually bent and after trying to straighten it back out, it did break of. I used some marine epoxy to put the tip back on, but needed some extra protection. This skeg guard fit perfect over the skeg and was easy to install. The guard was very snug and had to be tapped into place with a rubber mallet. The drilling of the skeg was not difficult and once installed was firmly in place. The construction is solid and has a thick piece of metal on the bottom for extra protection. The mirror finish looks nice and with a stainless steel prop looks even better. The first time out with the new guard on, I launched the boat on a shallow ramp and after lowering the lower unit, I hit bottom. The guard did its job, and I most likely would have lost the tip of my skeg if I had not installed this. Well worth the money to protect your skew.

Very nice look, covers up worn skeg. Should hold up, but time will tell.

Easy to install. Just remember to use a high speed metal drill bit. It looks great and covers the broken skegg. Have it on for about 2 months and so far it looks the same as when I installed it. Great product. Worth the price.
