Great on Aggregate -- Stunning Results
I am doing a swimming pool remodeling project on a 30 year old pool (new pebble surface / tile / stone / etc) -- big expensive project. And I'm looking at the pool decking / walkways, and my wife thinks it's a waste to spend a fortune on the pool, while not replacing the decking aggregate. There's nothing wrong with the surface, other than it's perhaps old style, and faded a bit. After some research, I came up with this product, was impressed by the favorable reviews, ordered one 5 gal container to try it out on a walkway, although you are really committed to do the rest once you start. The prep took the most time using a pressure washer, and some rust remover for a couple of spots. Applying this sealer was very easy with a roller on a pole. The consistency of the sealer is not conducive for a garden variety sprayer -- don't even try it. Besides, I believe one has much better control with a roller, it forces the sealer into the knocks and crannies, and clean up is easy -- just throw it out. The sealer container is user friendly -- different than the picture; it's a plastic container with a screw top -- so you can pour out the sealer as you work your way through the job.The results are amazing -- the aggregate looks new as the pebbles pop out with the colors, rather than the sea of gray prior to application. Covered about 150 sq ft / gal or 750 sq ft for the 5 gal container. Just ordered another one to finish the job. Applied one coat, and it looks very good, not sure if I will do a second. Keep in mind that aggregate has a course texture, unlike a concrete garage floor, so it takes more product to get a coat down. Anyway, very good product -- plan to use it for my stamped concrete driveway in the future.UPDATE: Pool was finished, put two coats down of this product about 24 hours apart, and it brought this old aggregate back to life. Surface is darker, and pebbles in aggregate are bright and shiny. Nothing sticks to this finish -- easy to hose and clean surface.

Stamped concrete looks great after application
We've applied sealers on ~1000 sq feet of stamped concrete patio for 2 times and hired a contractor for one time. This is the best looking sealer we've used and beats the contractor's result by far. The concrete looks glossy and like new. We applied 2 thin coats with an 18" roller. It was fairly fast and easy to do.It smells bad though so make sure the area is ventilated VERY well. (We would not recommend this product for indoor due to the strong smell). Also beware that the surface is very slippery afterwards, especially when it is wet. But overall we're happy with the price and the quality of the sealer.

Great Product ONLY IF USED CORRECTLY
This product works well on stamped concrete but if you apply it incorrectly you will have a huge mess and massive bubbling that will take a LOT of effort to correct. Of course power wash but the real key is that you must apply a VERY thin coat (either early morning or early evening) and let it dry for 2 days before applying another thin coat. If you over apply it at all it will bubble and build up in indentations. Do NOT let this happen or you will be cleaning it up with xylene for days. I can't overstate how important it is to apply thin coats and let one dry FULLY before even thinking about applying another. If you want the best possible outcome I would suggest a solvent capable sprayer to ensure an even coat. Even with the best technique, rolling this on stamped concrete (especially with with deep indentations) is a gamble. I know all the reviews are very positive (and rightly so) but I suspect those who have a challenge getting applied properly are not speaking up here. Again, great product but the results can be anything from beautiful to horrible based on doing everything correctly. There is very little margin for error on stamped concrete. On flatter concrete surfaces what I'm saying may not apply as specifically so remember I'm only talking about stamped concrete. Also once you apply this you're going to need to reapply (or rejuvenate with xylene) annually to maintain the glossy appearance as acrylic is fairly quick to dull so realize you are committing to a maintenance program with any acrylic (not just this product). Last thing; if you are debating whether or not to use an anti-slip powder with this you will absolutely want it. The product is far too slippery without it and it also helps prevent bubbling (my experience). It will reduce the sheen slightly but this is actually helpful as there is less noticeable change to the appearance over the first few months. Don't worry that the anti-slip power will affect the product in any was as it won't. I hope this helps provide more specific details to anyone planning to use it on stamped concrete. Best of luck with you project and don't hurry!
