What type of wood is best to grown them in and should I prop the log up somehow? What’s an ideal configuration?

Chicken of the woods is a hard mushroom to grow and definitely needs some special considerations. One way to do it is the pasteurization/sterilization method outlined on the product page and plug pamphlet on our website: https://northspore.com/collections/plug-spawn/products/chicken-of-the-woods-plug-spawn Another way to increase success is likely just a super high spawn rate. So, I'd probably put all these plugs into one log. Ready to go out of the bag!

Highly recommend, no cap. I got them a couple weeks ago and they are spreading mycelium like wildfire. I put them in logs and spawn bags and I got nothing to complain about. Amazing product!

Know what you are doing or it will not work

Did not work , nothing happened . Maybe I did not plant it correctly, I did how ever get a bunch of wild poison mushrooms grow in the same area . I may have contaminated the spores with my hands (skin oils )

Definitely Good Spawn

Great product by great company. Grew the mycelium on hard wood pellets. Have yet to successfully fruit this particular mushroom but it's one of the more difficult ones so I understand it's probably something I'm doing wrong. Great product that is obviously healthy and ready to produce with the right kind if care!
