Works quite well
With 8 steps I can climb to 20ft up a tree in less than one minute.

They're heavy, but they work.
They have a limited diameter of tree they will work with, due to the "whoopie sling" type rope connection, but they work. So far I've only had them on hickory and oak, but they grip when they are supposed to. The fold-up steps look like they would be slippery, but I have not had that happen, as your feet tend to push sideways against the tread. Not sure if that makes sense. They are steel, and therefore heavy when compared to the cheap plastic steps out there. But these are steel, and will therefore hold up forever. The rope connection is similar to Amsteel, and will probably hold up a Jeep, so I don't worry about the rope failing, either.

Cranford EZY Climb Folding Rope Step
The shipping was on time and the product was as advertised. I gave the steps a four star due to the length of the rope limits the size of tree you can climb. In addition, I was hoping to purchase enough of the rope steps to eliminate some of the climbing sticks used with my lone wolf lock-on. Four of the steps weigh as much as one of my sticks but it takes five steps to cover the distance that one stick covers. So , by the time I get enough steps to eliminate three sticks I would be carrying the same amount of weight and the sticks are much more stable to climb on. With that being said, I LIKE THE STEPS. Very easy to use, very quiet to set up. I will be using them at the top of my climb near the stand. If U hunt game and fish they also are a great alternative to screw in bow holder/gear hanger. Another good buy from Amazon.

Great concept but not sturdy
Love the idea of these steps however after multiple attempts to tweak them to work safely I returned them. They are light, well built, and inexpensive. However they will not tighten up on a tree, especially something with thick bark!I even tried a amsteel rope mod and they will not firm up!

Great Product!
These steps are the real deal. I've used the "Ameristep" nylon strap tree steps and these are far more sturdy than the molded plastic version, and their made in the US! I'm 5'10" and 185lbs with out my gear on and I can hang off, or jump one step with out it budging.I bought them for two reasons: 1 On NY state land you can't damage the trees. 2 After having stands ripped off by thieving scumbags in the same area, I use a hanger with four climbing sticks. The rope steps get me to the first stick and come in and out with me. I can put them on in the dark and they make zero noise.I plan in buying more in the neat future, if for no other reason than to keep a fellow AMERICAN in a job.

Quick and easy installation
Awesome product, very easy to use on majority sized trees. Small piece of advice before use, is to extend the size of the rope for better time management before installing on ones tree.I find that this product is very essential for my way hunting, quick and efficient. Using a Trophyline tree saddle is perfect for these steps.

gets the job donebut hard to stabilize
Overall i'm satisfied. i can leave a stand installed and do a bit to deny access to others. The directions are inadequate but you can figure it out. First off, i am about 5'8" 180 lbs. and wear a size 9. The steps are too small both in width and length to put your weight on for very long. Not a problem typically but it certainly was when installing my stand. My feet hurt. Also, if your rope is loose the step can roll a bit because their base against the tree isn't very wide. I'm sure in wintery conditions they would be a bit slick too.As for the holding stability i have only used them twice, but they tend to sag a bit. This is ok because eventually they reach their max and stabilize. Also, I got better at wrapping them tight each time i used them. In comparing them to screw-in versions they are not as stable - but you don't harm the tree.
