It is made of macroporous non-woven polyamide with a pressure sensitive adhesive, and reinforced with filaments that offer extra strength to prevent wounds from being reopened or widened, resulting in scars. The proprietary materials and innovative reinforcement technology allow ScarOver Skin Closure to have a perfect balance between elasticity, breathability and adherence, closely mimicking the elastic modulus of human skin, and allowing moisture evaporation and skin to breathe. The cross reinforcement fibers allow the product to be applied to all types of wounds easily, and the inherent elasticity of the product allow the skin closure to elongate and yield to the movement of skin, preventing the concentration of forces at the proximal ends and reducing the chances of traction blisters or skin shear. In addition, ScarOver Skin Closure is covered with a waterproof layer that can create and maintain a moisture environment for wound healing, which also helps to prevent scars from forming. The medical grade skin-friendly adhesive provides excellent adhesion while greatly improves the comfort on the sensitive skins. It is ideal for instances when aesthetic results are of great importance, such as in plastic surgery.
