Great value too !! *by M***D on September 27, 2018* I was looking for a lightweight scooter that my son to use around his college campus. Look at all the reviews of some of other brands like the Xootr, Exooter, Oxelo, etc.. But they were either too expensive (over $200) or too heavy (over 10 lbs). The A5 is less than 9 lbs and only $80. I initially looked at the Razor A6 since I liked the slightly bigger wheels. But then I noticed a folding design flaw that some readers reported that it has caused their handles to fold when riding (this happens if you don't tighten the folding screw hard enough). So with safety in mind, I chose the A5. It has a better fold/lock mechanism, cheaper than all of those mentioned before, and build with high quality. When you take it out of the box, you can tell that it is very sturdy and high quality. I feel very comfortable that my son can ride it, throws it around campus and it will still survive the everyday rigors. The locking mechanism is not 100% solid (has a little give) so it rattles a little when you move the handle. But when you put some weight on it, it is solid to ride on. I have been riding around the neighborhood the last week and it is very smooth and glide along the pavements just fine. I changed out the bearings with the Bones REDS Bearing and they made it even smoother. Definitely a good scooter and an even greater value at $80.
