Review In making it horribly bad, Jack Frost is at the very least entertaining. And is there anything else you could ask for from a B-movie about a serial-killing snowman? --Ryan Cracknell, Movie Views''Jack Frost.. is Troma-esque, but it's a stronger effort with decidedly greater imagination and more than a few technical miracles, including smart editing… Even with obvious production limitations, Cooney gets a lot out of the picture, creating a bizarre screen demon, gleefully messing with the purity of holiday sentiment by having a snowman pile up the dead bodies. --Brian Orndorf, Blu-ray.com

Killer Klowns On Ice
VINEGAR SYNDROME BLU-RAY/DVD:I love this movie. My first impression was that it ranked right up there with "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" in the genre of Comedy Horror. But in fact, after several viewings, this easily surpasses it.Heavy on the comedy. Light on the horror. A good kind of silly that's very self-aware.Solid directing and camera work. Serviceable acting. Good storyline. But Jack steals the show. He looks great. Has great lines. And great voice acting. By the end, he had me rooting for him to win.BLU-RAY ITSELF:The Blu-ray case comes with a reversible slip cover. I prefer the alternate art, which actually resembles Jack. (See the photo I included.) The standard artwork doesn't make sense to me, seeing Jack looks nothing like that ghoul. The picture and sound are excellent. The volume is bit on the low side, but didn't push the limits of my TV's amplification to get it to a good level, even without a sound bar. And I noticed that some scenes were on the dark side, like the outdoor scene with the three cops, one old deceased farmer, and the rocking chair. Fixing that was easy and completely effective. I just slightly increased the Brightness setting on my TV.This film has me wondering if Jack Frost 2 is anywhere near as good, because this one was a lot of fun, and one that I can, and do, watch over and over again.Great fun for the run-up to the holiday season just ahead!4.5 STARS

"World's Most Pissed Off Snow-Cone!"
What do you get when you cross a psychopathic serial killer, a truck full of chemicals, and a lot of snow? Well, when you also add in a fabulous Blu-Ray release by Vinegar Syndrome, you get a perfect snow-storm for B-Movie goodness! This release of the famous (or infamous) 1997 Jack Frost movie (not to be confused with the 1998 Michael Keaton family film) is fantastic! I never thought this kind of movie would have such a high quality release but here we are! Came safely to me with two discs (one Blu-Ray and one DVD) and a reversible slip cover! Stay warm and watch this flick!

Great comedy/horror flick even better on blu-ray
It's about a serial killer named Jack Frost who is being driven to his execution in the snowy winter when an accident occurs and Frost transforms into a Snowman bent on killing the cop who arrested him. I remember renting this on tape at the video store when it first came out and then finding the letterbox version on dvd. Rare to find the dvd of it at the time but with this awesome release it's useless now. Great picture and audio on this disc and very good special features. Dvd didn't really have any special features. I would have liked to seen Shannon Elizabeth (an unknown at the time) comment on the infamous nude bathtub carrot rape scene she's in but oh well. Still awesome.

A Great Comedy
First off, when this came out in 1997, it was never meant to be taken seriously as a horror movie. I can see some of the nods toward the genre but obviously this was meant to be a B Flick & they knew they were going to get laughed at but never knew that they would have a Cult following either. Anyway, if you want a good laugh for when you're staying in for the night, then this is the movie for you.

Very, very demented comedy, not scary at all.
Looking for class, subtlety, good acting, thought-provoking substance...? This is definitely not the movie to watch.Once you get past the tongue-in-cheek killer-snowman references and obviously unskillful cast, you'll be able to enjoy the sheer depravity of the humour here. That is, if you've got an appreciation of the macabre and campy.I usually don't subscribe to the theory that bad is good. In this case, however, the director obviously knows his filmic comedy -- his reveals are startling, the concepts quite original, and the execution pretty nifty. The striptease montage, for example, ends on a very satisfyingly coy note (great use of sound effects and music here), as does the rocking-chair gag. The malignant-snowman concept bears much potential for creative gags and Cooney milks it effectively.Walk in expecting cranial matter and you'll obviously be disappointed. As silly, black film comedy, however, Jack Frost is highly enjoyable. One note, however -- unless you're the horror-unsavvy kind that gets scared at I Still Know What You Did Last Summer or Scream, don't expect any horror out of this one at all. Texas Chainsaw Massacre this isn't.

Terrible movie, but fun
This movie is terrible. The plot is predictable and stupid. The acting is hit-and-miss. The special effects are horid. For crying out loud -- a killer snowman? It's insane. However, it's one of my favorite DVDs. I love to force my friends to suffer through the movie when they come to visit. It's almost to the point where it's so bad that it's good. It's destined to be one of those "cult classics" you always hear about. It's a movie I love to have fun making fun of -- try saying this with a straight face: "Have you seen 'Jack Frost?' No, not the one with Michael Keaton, but the *good* one."If you aren't looking for anything substantial for your viewing pleasure, you'll be satisfied with "Jack Frost." And if you have a warped sense of humor, you'll probably like "Jack Frost."If you enjoy Ed Wood movies, you'll enjoy "Jack Frost."

Alright
Its a movie about a killer snowman! Has some really great parts and better than expected acting. But the script was not well written and dragged its feet at times.

Wonderful, low-budget snowman movie - on Blu-Ray!
I've loved this movie ever since it was released, and way before it became the cult classic it now is. I'm frankly astonished that it's made it into hi-def, but here we are - it's cheaply done, the special effects are sub-par, but it's really well scripted and clearly made with real heart and passion. I love it and can't recommend it enough.

2 copies of the same film in 1 set
This is an entertaining film but it is not 2 Blu-rays as advertised. It contains 1 Blu-ray Disc & 1 DVD disc, so 2 copies of the same film. They should it have included the film Jack Frost 2 as the 2nd disc on Blu-ray for this price.

Makes a change from usual movies on a bored night
Not the best film I’ve seen I ordered it because I watched it a few years ago and thought I’d watch it again. Arrived today.. not my fave film but ok as a change. Wouldn’t watch it regularly. Seller was great and has no reflection on the movie itself.
