Honey and Leonard

Too FUNNY! Made me laugh.
Many think love is only for the young, but Honey and Leonard written by Mark Paul Smith proves that theory wrong. This romantic tale, about two 70-something lovebirds, is riddled with mystery, suspense, and humor. Their antics will have you looking forward to each page turn. I enjoyed every minute of this book and would heartily recommend it.

What a beautiful love story
I gave this book 5 stars, because I felt the love. I know that sounds so cliche. I couldn't put the book down, I was so wrapped up into their story that I could actually feel their love in my heart. I wanted it to have a happy ending so badly that I would tense up when things weren't going well. I wish I knew Honey and Leonard. Thank you Mark, for a truly lovely story.

Delightful
I was hesitant to read a story about dementia, expecting it to be sad. To my delight, this story was more about love, hope, and living in the moment than the sadness that dementia can cause. I love that the characters reflect their ages and the acceptance and wisdom that comes with that. This was such a great read and a reminder to be grateful for each day life gives us! I am ready to read the next novel!

A Great Love Story
Honey and Leonard is a unique love story due to the ages of the main couple. Although Honey and Leonard are both in their seventies, they are deeply in love with each other, and realize that the meaning and feelings associated with love can be different depending on the stage of life. While this is primarily a love story, it is also full of adventure, humor, and great inspirational wisdom about finding and holding onto love. These characters do face challenges because Leonard is in the early stages of Alzheimer's, but that also strengthens the novel's message. In most cases, I don't enjoy this type of novel, but Honey and Leonard is the exception. I love the emphasis on the deeper meaning of love over physical attraction.

Warm and Romantic
I thought this novel warm and romantic even when I wanted to cry over the characters’ failed exploits and human frailty. A wonderful book full of crazy adventures and gold nuggets of wisdom and inspiration. Honey and Leonard reminds us love can happen at any age and isn’t just for the young and physically perfect. Reading the novel, I kept thinking also of how true love rescues again and again. It’s not just saving another person, but love is self-rescuing as well. I highly recommend this award-winning novel.

Madcap adventure with heart
This madcap, wildly improbable tale of two septuagenarian lovers who flee the authorities and escape to Paris and the French Riviera and become international celebrities was really fun to read. But it was more than that. Leonard has early-stage Alzheimer’s and the author does a masterful job of conveying the frustration, confusion and sadness of a man who knows the day is coming when he will no longer remember the great love of his life.Recommended. Especially if you are over fifty.Reviewed on NetGalley.
