H by FretteShawl Collar Bathrobe with Piping

Yesterday I received the robe of robes (days ahead of the original delivery date!) I cannot describe my delight to finally have found a robe which I truly love for its fit, its comfort, its warmth without bulk. its fabulous shawl collar and the way it behaved after a thorough wash and drying session in my state-of-the-art washer and dryer.In my lifetime, while traveling and living all over this World, I have worn a lot of robes and the majority of them have been discarded, thrown out, donated, given away because they did not measure up, failing miserably in all areas where robes need to perform. Too constrictive, too short, too long and tripping over the Golden Retrievers going up the staircase, no pockets or very tiny pockets, not staying nicely closed in the front and showing the embarrassing gap while standing and/or sitting down. Skimpy and flimsy material or super heavy and yet not cozy, the list is endless.I found the Frette Hotel Robe totally by accident and decided to take a chance and place an order.I am 5'8" and I weigh 110 lbs. Yes, I know, I am thin but with a difficult build of wide shoulders, very long, thin arms, no hips, long legs and a very small chest. Sales associates in the finest of stores insist I wear a size 4/6 and are always astounded when those sizes don't fit me, mostly because of the width of my shouldersand I so desperately wanted a robe which is not constrictive in the shoulders, so I can turn and grab my dogs by their collar, reach for a book etc. without that back-holding of narrow shoulder width.So I took a chance and ordered a size LARGE!When the robe arrived I tried it on and it was large alright, through the shoulders very comfortable but very large in the sleeve length (I could fold over the cuff 2 times)And then I put my plan to work, put the robe and belt into the washer and washed it just like I wash my all-white , thick bath towels. On a hot setting and just treated the garment as a towel without fussing over it.After that treatment in the dryer it went, again like my towels, into the dryer, drying on towel temperature: quite hot ( not the very hottest setting but just 1 notch below it! )My robe came out like a dream........beautifully soft (no fabric softener, no dryer sheets, don't use them)Length overall: perfect, shoulders: perfect and sleeves exactly where they need to be without rolled up cuffs!My robe is now exactly the way I dreamed a robe should be: warm, very soft, roomy yet not baggy, just totally perfect!I am writing this so others will know that you can give this robe a completely custom fit and while I have a far from "perfect" figure, my robe looks , feels and behaves like it was made especially for me!I wanted to add that I hate clothes you have to "tippy-toe" around.......have to wash on COLD because the fabric will shrink up to nothing and then you have to line-dry after laundering because goodness only knows what will happen when you put it in the dryer!Like my terry bath robe my Mother-in-law's housekeeper accidentally washed with a load of towels (several years ago) and rendered it midget sized.This robe has all the hallmarks of a well-made garment, it stands up and it works for me, letting me enjoywearing it right out of my bath or lounging on the chaise with a book or with my dog.Many thanks Frette Company, I am going to try your summer-weight waffle robe also and am certain it will behave just as well as my new Velours Hotel Robe.

Let me begin by sharing I read the reviews and evidently so does the manufacturer, packaging was only what was needed for shipping. Sturdy box contained heavy white robe in durable plastic bag ( will use later for trash or something so as not to waste ). There was a cute little do not disturb sign which will come in handy.I am 5’3” and 112 lbs, I ordered a medium…. It’s perfect, roomy but not huge.As for the item, seemed like a hefty price for a bathrobe but decided to go for it after reading reviews. I am so glad I did, this thing is awesome!!Washed it from the start, warm water and hot dryer… Did not shrink at all which is actually what I hoped for. Love the options for belt placement as I prefer it to ride on hips as opposed to waist. This thing is very well made, heavy yet comfortable. Took a bit longer to dry so as for absorbency I give it a 10.It looks and feels absolutely 100% cotton and meets all desired Ned’s.I will be purchasing another for my sister and granddaughter as soon as review is submitted. Do yourself a favor and invest in this quality item, you won’t be sorry

Beautiful packaging, certainly gift worthy! This robe come packaged like a handbag - lovely box, tissue, a travel bag, then the gorgeous robe. The robe itself is a great weight and quality, made of 100% Turkish cotton in a bright white color. Feels like a high end resort item that you get to keep at home! I am a size 10 and the large is a great fit with some room to spare. Absorbent and cozy, would make an amazing gift!

The bathrobe arrived more quickly than expected, and the packaging was nice. It comes with a travel bag, too. I am 5'8" and 120lbs and ordered a small; the sizing and length were a good fit for my preference. The sleeves are a little long but rolling the cuff once is perfect. The robe is a good weight, feels soft, and the pockets are a plus. I have not washed it yet but don't have any concerns about doing so. Overall the quality is very good and I think it is luxurious but will also be durable. It seems like the type of high-end robe you'd find in a posh hotel. Very satisfied!

The H by Frette Shawl Collar Bathrobe was a brand that sounded luxurious and it sure delivered. The bathrobe I ordered was an extra large which fit perfect. I go about 6 foot 260. The bathrobe felt nice and was certainly cozy walking around my house. The sleeved were a little big but I got use to that. I liked that the bathrobe had pockets on the front that I could put my hands in for warmth or to put my keys into. The bathrobe has an elegant feel to it and is quite heavy. The full collar keeps my neck nice and warm. I ordered the robe and it came the next day. The bathrobe says it is made in Turkey and enjoyed at some of the most iconic hotels such as The Peninsula and Rosewood Hotels among other luxurious places. The price is steep for a bathrobe but worth the price to feel like a king.

This robe is quite heavy but I expect that will be a good thing in the winter. Otherwise it is beautifully made and feels luxurious. Sizing is generous.

My new favorite thing. Thought it might be too big when it arrived. Washed/dried and the sleeves that were a bit too long and the width that was a bit too wide are now perfect. So if you’re going to tumble dry definitely size up.

This shawl collar bathrobe from H by Frette is easily the most comfortable robe I’ve ever worn. It’s 100% cotton, and has all of the softness and coziness you’d expect to see right at home in a luxury hotel. It’s got a great heft to it, as well — not too heavy and not too light, but definite high-end thickness and quality. The deep front pockets and roomy shoulders and sleeves really drive home the comforting feeling of being wrapped up and enhances your ability to relax while wearing it. I would highly recommend this robe.
