I’m amazed this actually works a treat. It’s been connected to the tv in my sewing room so didn’t want to spend much money on it. The quality of the picture is surprisingly good for what it is. I even hooked up a spare amp to improve the sound quality from the tinny speaker on the tv. Now I can watch a movie on the dvd player or put a music cd in it and enjoy. I’m so happy as I can now sew away and be entertained at the same time thanks to this amazing little adapter. I recommend this adapter to anyone that has a dvd player that only has a scart connection and a smart tv that only has an hdmi, this will do the trick without spending too much on it.

Produced a 16:9 picture from all taped formats , usually 4:3. It rendered poor quality VHS recordings with some digital artefacts to a 40in flat screen. Compered with a SVHS 400 line tape played by a SVHS VCR via SCART In to a SCART INPUT on a DVD / HD Freevew player/recorder, the picture from this converter had a lot of digital artefacts visible on a 42in flat screen . No controls are provided, it is plug & play
