I had this space burn out on my barrel smoker.** A: It can.... But DON'T!!! Max temp 650 degrees. Firebox will get way hotter. Wood burns above 1,100 degrees and charcoal over 2,000 degrees.Kept getting an odd flavor every time I ran a hot fire. I ended up tearing the fire box down and using the fibre gasket. In the smoker box I have had Great Results.... **Q: Can this be used in an oven?** A: Yes! It is good safe and should be able to handle most ovens, even the broil setting. Beware that it has a strong vinegar smell (VOC) and you should not only let it fully cure, but run the oven at a high heat for about 20-30 minutes or more a day prior to food use. This is to make sure anything that will burn and/or off gas is allowed to do so without coming into contact with your meal. **Q: Both this & silco 6500 had sbhtred stamped on the end crease. whats the difference? this one claims to be 650f well the silco 6500 is 500f. lawsuit??** A: If using for a grill, don't sweat the details. Used it on my UDS that I regularly run in the 300 - 350 range and sealant does fine. If using it in an application that requires more heat, try it and see if it works! It is not like it is too cost prohibitive to experiment with. So far, have been extremely pleased with results. **Q: Can I use this to glue a cracked in half ceramic pot from an indoor electric bbq?** A: This is a sealer. I don’t think you could use it for glue. Pros: Sticks REALLY well, to any surface it seems. Hest resistance seems to perform as advertises. It is easily on par with automotive compounds in terms of gripping power and is highly resistant to a variety of common solvents... this is a double-edged sword because... Cons: Tube is not crimped at bottom, Nozzle fits loose, they dropped the ball hard on packaging. If you squeeze too hard while working with smaller bead sizes ( sub 5mm) you're probably going to get a whole bunch of the compound spilling out of both ends. Prep work is absolutely essential to getting the most out of this product. HVAC and Painters tape will be your best friend, if only for the fact that it is very difficult to scrape off once it has been cured.
