It is high quality plastic. I used a Jeppesen CR3 in the early 80's along with a Casio digital watch, sharp pencil, sextant, and math to navigate jet aircraft as a navigation student......YES we used to use sextants in airplanes at mach .9 to figure out ..... not where we were....... but where we had been 5 to 10 minutes prior....... because that was the state of the art in navigation over the ocean where no land based navigation aids could be placed. Today your phone will tell you where you are NOW and navigational skills are lost on all but a few. Not to mention, we put men on the moon with slide rules and less "computer" power on the entire mission than in a smart watch.

So what is this? A circular slide rule or something only for flyers?
